sharing this wonderful report will all of us. You have inspired me. I am 4

& l/2 months post op and weighed 242 lbs on Jan 10th the day of my surgery

and am now at 169 lbs. So I hope to catch up with you in a few more months.

till I hit that 100 pound mark. You have been very encouraging for me. I

have watched you from day one. I hope my success story is going to be as

they treat you now. I can believe it. But I have always acted like I was

never as fat as I was until recently. And my friends have told me they never

considered me fat either. I guess this is because I have never slowed down

due to my obesity. I constantly make

jokes to ease the thoughts of what other people may think of the skinny

people hanging out with the fat girl. Really until recently, I have never

cared what people thought. But I suddenly took along look at my self in the

mirror and did not know the girl starring back at me. This is when I knew, I

needed help!

I of course remember you from way back and how desperate you were to have the

surgery. You would have done ANYTHING!! I am so happy for you too! I just

dont' get a chance to post like before, as my life is much more exciting and

Thanks for writing and it was a pleasure to meet you at the support meeting!!

I really didn't care what people thought about me either (only my son's

friends) and all my friends used to tell me the same thing.......that they

did not consider me fat. But, the last 20-30 pounds really took a toll on my

body and that's when I faced the reality of it all. I really didn't relate my

misery to my weight until I see now that I was an angry person sometimes who

would rather blame someone else instead of fixing myself!!

I bought a new robe for my strolls through the hospital halls. I only took

about three walks so it really didn't get much use. I must say though it

came in handy this past week at the hospital...they didn't have gowns that

covered my shrinking derrière! lol!

Are you a hairdresser? No wonder you've been a redhead, blonde, and a

brunette! You must know all the tricks for hanging on to your hair!

(keeping it from fallling out from the MGB)lol Will you share them with

us??? I read that you've kept your hair long for awhile and now are going

to get a cut and perm. I've always had short hair and perms. Now I'm

trying to grow it out and it's taking forever! The bangs are driving me

NUTS! Every day, I think about going and getting it CHOPPED OFF. Got any

good tips? (especially for my interviews coming up). Thanks a bunch.
