Hi

I am a new member of the CF parents so I hope you don't mind my opinion. I

have a now six year old daughter who has been using the vest for years. When we

started her out with it we first tried it on her stuffed animals and her older

brother to show her it was nothing that was going to hurt her. Then we started

out just by putting the vest jacket on her without the hookup of the hoses so

she could adjust to the jacket. We let her feel the air coming out of the hoses

and just slowly eased her into it and she did great. She liked only the slow

setting at first for a while though but now she can do it in her sleep. I hope

your child keeps up the good progress. My daughter has been ill lately with

colds but luckily hasn't progressed. She is finally starting to gain weight

again. She is up to around 41 pounds. Well I hope you have good luck and don't

mind a newcomers advice. We have been living with CF for six years and I have

never heard of this site until now. Thank you. It's great to know we're not

alone.Good Luck.

NATHAN APPT

HI,

WE JUST TOOK NATHAN UP TO SPOKANE FOR A CLINIC VISIT ON THURSDAY. WE HAD A

CHEST X-RAY AND ANOTHER THROAT CULTURE DONE TO SEE IF HIS PSEUDOMONAS HAS GOTTEN

ANY BETTER. WE ARE ALSO STARTING THE PROCESS FOR A VEST. IS THIS A DIFFUCULT

PROCESS? NATAHAN IS 17 MONTHS OLD SO IM ALITTLE WORRIED THAT HE WILL BE AFRAID

OF THE MACHINE. ANY EXPERANCE WITH TODDLERS AND THE VEST OUT THERE? IT TOOK HIM

3 WEEKS TO NOT BE AFRAID OF THE NEBULIZER. DR TOLD US TO FINISH OFF HIS TOBI AND

WE ARE GOING BACK ON D'NASE FOR AWHILE. HE IS DOING VERY WELL AS FAR AS GROWTH

26.5 LB AND 33 INCHES TALL. THE PROCESS ON GETTING THE VEST. OR TODDLERS USE, I

WOULD APPIACIATE ANY FEEDBACK.

THANKS, AMY (MOM TO NATHAN 17 MONTHS OLD WITH CF)Get more from the Web. FREE
