I always wondered why if I tried to open a jar that had a tight lid ...it would cause pain. This is an interesting topic, to identify which exercises cause others pancreatic pain. Of course, bending over, when in the midst of a flare up, always causes me pain. Other days, it's not a problem. I'd be interested to hear what bothers other people. Two things that I've had to practically eliminate from my regular activity are raking, and mopping the floor...both will cause pain after just a few minutes. Now all I need is a gardener and a maid! Guest guest
I have found out that any thing that shakes my body while I am having pain will do more harm. The weedeater with the constant vibration causes the most harm. If I am in good shape then it does less pain to me. I have also had to limit my rides on amusement rides that do a lot of spinning, bumping, and jerking. I have had bad problems with lifting heavy items. Anything weighting over 100lbs. held for a few minutes will for sure send me to the hospital. Climbing for more than 20 minutes, Boat riding in rough or white capping water. Swimming for more than 5 minutes. 3 and 4 wheelers takes only a few minutes of that, as well as jet skis. Furniture moving, sweeping and moping. Chainsawing, tractors, overeating, and running, hammering, and whitewater rafting and bike riding up hills. I can usually observe that if I am going to be shaken, it is not for me, sometimes. If I am very weak, then even walking causes it. Doctors doing internal work on me. I seem to have no trouble bending over, in fact this seems to reduce the pain. Bean picking is okay for a while but if it lasts for more than 40 minutes then it hurts my back and sets off pancreatitis later in the afternoon. I have been keeping tabs on this for the last ten years. I have taken steps to reduce my pain from starting and always looking for an easier way to get the job done without flairing my pancreas up. I can reduce the speed of my mower on rough land. Also tapping a tight lid with the back of a butterknife a few times will loosen it up. Also raking and hoeing and the shovel is a nightmare for at least 6 days. Hope this helps someone, and finds you all having a great day! Thanks, > > > > >I also found that turning wrenches on tight bolts > > effected my pancreas! Guest guest
-Whoa, , thats great that you can keep track of all that. It is weird that bending over causes you LESS pain, when that is the only thing for me that can cause severe pain. My kids leave toys all over the floor, plus my vaccumm just broke so I forget, and I bend to pick things up and whoa, i see stars...I need to remember to just place my butt on the floor and go from there haha.. Guest guest
Yes, Yes, Yes! Pain, much pain from tight bras. That is why when I have to get dressed up to go some place I dread it! The dreaded bra! Maybe there is another complication of this disease.........saggy,draggy boobs from not wearing a bra? ha ha You hit the nail on the head. Also, a too hot shower sets my sphincter of Oddi into a fit, drinking too hot or too cold beverages too fast, getting too hot and sweaty, etc. Always will bring on a spasm. Amazing isn't it? Take care all Kaye -- In pancreatitis@y..., " Pamela .Rider " wrote: > > How about pain from tight bras!!.......You guys don't have to worry about this one!!...
