http://www.canderm.ca/rosacure is the web site for cure. Looks like it

is available from Canada.

It is listed on the dmoz open directory listing.

There is such a product as ceaCure in Canada. It is a separate

product from cea Care. I believe some people have used it on the

list and it incorporates some sort of anti-inflammatory herb if I'm

not mistaken. It also has a fatty alcohol high on its ingredient list

too, so it may not work out for some of us.

BTW, wasn't cea Care supposed to have a product including an NO

inhibitor out on the market this fall? Enquiring minds would like to

know about the NO!

Matija,

I have samples of ceaCure, as recommended by another group member . They

say one sees results in 3-4 weeks. It has not been that long, but I see no

difference yet. The options are to order a large bottle with a hope, or

indeed the ingredients are not for everybody.

What is ceaCare?

Thanks,

I've never used cea Care, but I know some on the list have.

Perhaps someone who has used it could share his/her experiences with

you.

cea Care does have a website and here it is -

I've used the cea Care Serum, which is good. It seemed soothing and non

irritating. The problem: I tried the sample size and it just wasnt enough

and didnt want to spend the $50 for the regular size if I wansnt 100% sure I

liked it. I didnt however like their moisutuizer, too thick and emollient.

Dear Matija,

I recently asked Dr. Sy about NO inhibitors. Here is her response:

" Re the research studies being conducted on NO inhibitors, I'm afraid this

may take many months and perhaps years. One dermatologist working on a grant

is from Harvard and he is just starting. His project will be more

comprehensive and credible than others. If his research shows positive

results for rosacea rx, a company that wants to make claims for the NO

inhibitor will have to apply for a NDA (new drug application) with the FDA

showing the true efficacy of said product. This means high expense and time. "

I presume this is USA only info...so doesn't necessarily apply to Canada..

Hi Sallie,

Thanks for asking Dr. Sy about NO inhibitors. cea Care announced

a few months back that they would have an otc NO inhibitor included in

a new skincare product. I guess I should have been clearer as to what

I was asking below and give a bit of history of NO inhibitors as I

remember them being discussed on the list.

The Harvard researcher (Ethan Lerner, MD) looking into a connection

between NO and rosacea is working on a grant for that from the NRS. I

posted an article written by Dr. Lerner earlier this year regarding

the connection between NO and skin redness. Here's the link:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rosacea-support/message/24047

Before his unfortunate accident, Dr. Nase was looking into

incorporating an NO inhibitor into a cream base and having physicians

being able to dispense that mixture as a means towards getting a

company interested in such a venture and then perhaps getting the FDA

to approve it for rosacea. (I think this is somewhat similar to how

Metrogel was approved for use by rosaceans.) I remember, I could be

wrong here, that one of our posters from the UK, Reid, was in

contact with an MD who was having poor results using an NO inhibitor

on test subjects with rosacea.

It would be great to know when cea Care would bring their new otc

NO inhibitor to market. I definitely will be visiting their site to

see when this happens. If somebody sees this happen before I do

(which is very well likely), please post it to the board.

Thanks,

Matija

I hope that I'm not confusing the issue further, but ceaCare (NY based

company making moisturiser, cleanser, facial gel, serum - not Canadian

based making anti-redness cream - thats cure, phew! got that out of

the way) is working on a preparation containing strontium nitrate. This is

to treat the burning and stinging of rosacea. " This inhibitory

action takes place within seconds and is long-lasting " is the quote from

Dr. Nase's book.

Topical Nitric Oxide (NO) inhibitors like L-NAME are something different,

they will inhibit the operation of this substance, thought to be important

in the rosacea response of vessel dilation. This is what is going to take

a huge effort on many fronts to develop into products we can go out and

buy,

cheers,

davidp.
