Guest guest
There is no known link between P and R. Chances are your face is cea...but only your derm would know for sure. I have both P and R as well...and have some small spots of P on my forehead, but have none on my face. I have had my R treated with photofacial treatments (Dr. Bitter Sr.). For more information on P, make sure you join the NPF (www.psoriasis.org) where you'll find a wealth of information on all types of P. I recently went to the NPF Symposium in SF (June) and was impressed with the information provided, as well as the direction of research. Of course, there is no cure for either R or P at this point...but we can continue to hope as researches continues. Good luck! Guest guest
I also have both psoriasis and rosacea. I was diagnosed with the psoriasis back in the very early 70s and then with rosacea a year ago. Here is the connection I've found (in myself). I believe that my rosacea symptoms were caused by an allergy or food intolerance. I have plenty posted on this in the archives. I don't know if the psoriasis on my elbows, knee, etc. were also caused by allergy, but when I amended my diet to control my rosacea, my psoriasis cleared up. It is almost entirely gone. Here are the things I've considered as possibilities: 1. My " rosacea " and my " psoriasis " are both manifestations of a rash that occurs in wheat/gluten intolerant people called dermatitis herpetaformis. I've looked at pictures of it on the web and it can appear on the face in a bumpy rash and in placques like psoriasis, in the usual psoriasis places. I found several pictures looking a lot like my skin conditions -- also a rash that had recently appeared on my legs. 2. Or, that my psoriasis (being auto-immune in nature) stays inflammed when my immune system is working overtime due to a food intolerance. All I know is when my face got better, my elbows suddenly cleared -- something I didn't expect to have happen.
