Guest guest
Hi everyone, It has been a long time since I have posted but I have been monitoring every now and then. I had a baby mid July and have been VERY busy!! This is what I have discovered in the last 6 months or so: A new derm diagnosed Seb derm instead of cea. She said that the seb derm has irritated my skin to the point of continual redness which made it look like rosacea and the flakiness on my chin caused zits which also seemed to be rosacea. My conclusion was that if I could keep the flakiness away I could control the breakouts too. I tried all the usual seb derm and rosacea treatments : nizoral, Head and shoulders, Hydrazole (combo of 1% hydracortisone and clotrimazole), cea Ltd, jojoba oil, oregano oil, cetaphil bar, Ponds, a new diet, eliminating sodium lauryl sulphate and other harsh cleansers and zinc cream. I have lost track of everyhting! The only " cleanser " that seems to work is ( this will sound weird but it's not the first time on this board): Huggies unscented natural care wipes and the only thibng that gets rid of flakes and doesn't clog my pores is pure liquid glycerin which I got at the drugstore. I only have to use it once or twice a week. I cleanse then spray my face with water (Evian spray) and then put a dime size drop of glycerin in the palms of my hands, rub together then gently pat on my skin the places where my flakes are. i also find that if I leave it on for a couple of hours then take a warm shower that I can gently rub the flakes off with my fingers which makes them disappear even faster. I'm really not sure why this all works but it is simple and nothing else over a two year period has really made the difference that glycerine and the wipes has. I started using the wipes and glycerin about 4 months ago when I read on the a Begoun site about the proliferation of makeup wipes on the market (J and J, Ponds, ect)and that really you if you like them you are better off buying the Huggies because they have no alcohol or surfectants and they are cheaper! Hope this helps someone. Leah Dwyer
