I know how hard that can be when you are hurting, depressed, and tired from insomnia. Although, I agree whole heatedly that pharmaceutical therapy often becomes the crux of our problems, due to the side effects, I am also a proponent to doing what ever we have to do to take care of ourselves. Many people suffer, silently, from either biochemical imbalances or situational depression, when treatment is available. Though depression often exhibits itself as insomnia, it is frequently necessary to treat both with separate medications. Zoloft, an antidepressant, and Remeron, an insomniac, are effective to treat these complaints. They are safe to administer simultaneously without any drug interactions. Because other non-pharmacological treatments have a more insidious action, I try in my own experience to either initiate alternative therapies and / or continue those during the times I need to take prescription medication. Guest guest
Heidi: Hi, I just got back from my appt. with my shrink. I thought I would let you know that I did go and what he did. He put me on another med, Remeron, to help me sleep in addition to the Zoloft I already take. Since they are suppose to work differently I hope this helps. I've been on them both before but never together. So we shall see. He (and I) are hoping this combo will help the sleep and the depression. I told him how I was feeling and that I was scared. I promised (he made me) that I would call him if I started seriously considering hurting myself.--I'm not now but I've been there before. I told him I felt like a lot of it was related to the fact that this is the time of year my daughter died, my sister lost custody of her kids and mothers day is coming up. I'm hoping that's it anyway. I'm finally feeling better (much) physically now if I can just get over this crap I'll be all right. We'll I don't want to ramble to much. Just wanted to drop a note and say hi. I hope you are doing well. _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx
