I just ended up having an ultrasound to find out what is causing the bloating. With this attack it came one and stayed for days; it is still bloated. My waist / abd girth is 40. " All I know is that I have too much HCl being excreted and it is being broken down and hydrogen gas is being excreted. I probably have an ileus or paralyzed bowel or severe Gastroparesis and I am not able to release the hydrogen gas. My doctor said it looked a lot like ascites and thought it was pancreatic juices being dumped into the abdomen. I'll let you know if we figure something out. Guest guest Posted May 27, 2002 Report Share Posted May 27, 2002 Cecelia, I nurse from my home infusion dept, (where I get my pain pump refill) told me to keep a tape measure handy. Then measure myself before I eat and after I eat to see if there is any different. Then keep a diary of it, if there is a change and take it to my doc and show him the change in writing so he'll take me seriously. She just told me this last friday to do this, so far I haven't try it. She told me to do this after I had eaten and she noticed how bloated I was, alot more than when I don't eat. It was a big difference that she could even notice, not just me. So I get very bloated after I eat too. You may want to give this suggestion a try. Hope you are having a pain free and bearable day.
