Can you tell us what your symptoms are? We are a varied lot in this group! I have a varient of CMT type 2 (not that the type matters much - the results are about the same). Our son and his wife moved to the Silicon Valley from Florida a few months ago, and they are happy there in spite of their rainy spring. Guest guest
Hi Kat, I'm afraid I can't tell you what my diagnosis is because I became so discouraged by so many uninformed doctors and such a complicated medical system requiring referrals and such that I have given up. I basicly researched some of the diagnoses on my own and found many similarities to CMT. The most disabling symptom that I have is unsteadiness. Speech is often difficult for me and fine motor skills in my hands are difficult. I first noticed a problem during my late childhood when I could never carry my dad's coffee to him without spilling and was always reprimanded. The problem got slowly worse and I found myself dropping out of many activities I enjoyed. By my early 20's I had difficulty with stairs (and that is still my worst problem) and now I almost always have to consider my disability when I plan my daily routine. I find 3 things that really help me on a daily basis are L-Tryptophan (Amino acid), stretching, and weightlifting (just little weights!) Take care! jill > ---------- > From: KathleenLS@... > Reply To: CMTUS (AT) e > Sent: Monday, April 10, 2000 3:20 PM > To: CMTUS (AT) e > Subject: Re: hi Jill > > > > > << I was even told by some doctors that I was making up my disorder and I > was > very > insulted because I would rather not have the symptoms I do and would not > make > it up.
