I am confused as to where the "shrinkage" happened- my stitch was

placed as high as possible (at the junction of the cervix into the

uterus) so it would seem weird to me to have the part below the

stitch shrink.. and there was no funneling above the stitch. It

makes me wonder now if the stitch is slipping. I didn't ask the dr.

this cause I was not able to concentrate at that time. But the dr

wasn't freaked out like before when I was funneling> He said

positioning made it hard to image and we would see next week. He

also said my cervix was firm and closed. I am very worried since I

am only at 20wks and I don't seem to have much cervix left to make

it to at least 30wks...

Cindy,

I rarely post here but I too have had a modified vaginial placed very high...with mersiline bands...anyhow just to let you know I had literally nothing to work with iether and too had funnelling at 21 weeeks. I stayed on bed rest..and was able to make to to 31 weeks...my cervix waxed and waned...some weeks it looked great some weeks it looked worse mostly it had to do more with the babys position. The only reason I delivered early was that my water broke ( I have issues with that not related to stitch faliure) anyhow my cervix was looking much better by 28 weeks it had grown and the funnelling stopped. My water broke my stitch was removed since I was way past viability to prevent infection. I carried another 5 days with membranes ruptured in the hospital then flipped breech and kicked my cervix and his foot fell out..LOL..so he had to be delivered...That was two years ago and now he is a healthy very busy two year old!!!!! Short NICU stay only 3 weeks ...few preemie issues..reflux and he was a fussy baby but now he is FINE..just thought you would want to hear a succes story. My bed rest was not horrid I was allowed up here and there showering ect...eating. Anyhow good luck..feel free to e mail me at warrot@...
