Guest guest
Good Evening, I just got off work and have been reading my email. I work at a hospital and today I went into a patients room (6:30am) and he was just waking up. His bed was a mess!!! He had blankets on the floor, sheets all twisted, and the stuff on the nightstand was knocked onto the floor. I asked him what happened and he said " for 30 years I have kicked in my sleep, my wife wont sleep with me, my psychiatrist doesnt have any idea what to do. I havent slept in years. " So I told him about RLS. I happened to have two copies of the nightwalkers with me so I gave them to him. A few hours later I went into his room and he was reading away and feeling like he " fit in " . His dr came into the room as he was reading and asked him what he was reading. She prescribed some meds for him to start with and she will change them if it doesnt work out. I agree with everyone that alot of hospital staff do not understand. His nurse just thought he was a slob and apoligized for being ignorant. I hope he is able to sleep well. Then this afternoon my Mom and sister stopped by the hospital with a gift. It was a " chumper " !!!!!!! My family is aware of my legs and my Mom is trying to help. What a sweetie. So this afternoon while the Iowa Hawkeyes beat Arkansas (GO IOWA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I sat and watched the game and thumped my legs. It was wonderful. Sorry you Arkansas fans but being from Iowa I cant help but feel excited. Have a good night
