Guest guest
Hi ... You mentioned that you thought the Benadryl had helped Ki's hives/rash. My daughter Josie is allergic to milk, eggs, peanuts and beef. To everything but the peanuts, she gets hives. First sign of hives, we give her the Benadryl and it clears it up within minutes! Works like a charm! Thought I'd offer than little tidbit of info! Take care Missy

Guest guest
When my bilirubin levels were high (and I was itching like crazy) I developed a rash on my arms and legs that looked to me like " baby chicken pox " . It only lasted about three days and seemed to disapeer around the same time my itching did. I mentioned it to my doc at my next appointment and she said she wasn't sure but thought perhaps the toxins that had built up in my body were trying to get out of my body via a rash. (MY previous bloodwork had revealed really high bilirubin levels). However, no one seemed too concerned about it. (My blood work later showed all of my liver enzyme levels were returning to normal including the bilirubin.) I do think there was some correlation. This disease has many different manifistations so I am not sure what is causing your daughters. Is she itching really bad? If so it may be similar to what I experienced. Good luck to you and your daughter. Jeannie My daughter just got this rash all over her body, looks like bad case of hives is this normal? Get a jump start on your taxes. Guest guest
According to one expert,” Rashes and hives, which are technically referred to as urticaria and angioedema, are common occurrences in people with allergies and autoimmune diseases.” I would still want an expert’s opinion to make sure it does not need medical attention immediately. I would think that it would either itch or hurt and medical attention might provide some relief of those symptoms. From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of lilstef23@... Guest guest
I've had hives but not from PSC. Once from long-term antibiotic that I developed an allergy to. The other time we never did figure it out, I think it was something they gave me when I had a breast biopsy a day or two before. Both had to be treated with steriods. Watch closely, sometimes hives are internal and can cause breathing obstruction. Try benedryl in the mean time. Hope she feels better soon. Guest guest
I was allergic to sunshine as a kid. It’s called solar urticaria. Any direct sunshine and I broke out all over. I was the only kid in the pool with a long-sleeved shirt on. Got me teased terribly. Nita I've had hives but not from PSC.

Guest guest
There is a virus common in children that causes a rash. It is called hand, foot and mouth disease. That is because kids get a rash on their hands, feet and in their mouth. There is something elegant about naming a disease so discriptively. Kids only get it once, it is contagious, and sometimes kids get it and don't even notice. There is a good description when you goggle it.
