Guest guest
I think it is also important to mention that there is a type of CMT that is 'spontaneous mutation', which is what I have, so MD's believe. No family history anywhere. Gretchen
Guest guest
Gretchen, Lamar here, I just want to remind you and others that spontaneous mutations of genes do take place. When a person is a true spontaneous mutation for CMT, they have the same type of CMT that others with the same genetic makeup have. It is not a different " Type " . If you are Type 1-A, your genes and the ability to pass it on are the same as any other person with 1-A. The genetic makeup determines type and not the manner in which it developed (by heredity vs. spontaneous). mutation I think it is also important to mention that there is a type of CMT that is 'spontaneous mutation', which is what I have, so MD's believe. No family history anywhere.
