Guest guest Posted April 27, 2001 Report Posted April 27, 2001 Hi , yes the doctor has scoped Mom . we were told they wasn't ant thing he could see , she was having trouble swallowing , they thought that there might be some infection , is that what they should be looking for ? Now the doctor are telling us that the RP is affecting her lungs , what can you tell me about this .. We live in a small town , very little known about RP by any of the Doctors. Is there any certain test that we should be having done ? Dr . Tom Renfro will order any kind of test that he thinks will help . Has your mom had a scope done yet to see if there has been any damage to her bronchial tubes or trachea yet? If not, please talk to her doctors about doing this. I say this with a bittersweet smile on my face. I can't tell you how many times Lyle has said this to me, encouraged me............ I am telling you what I was told by my dear friend Lyle. I will see if I can find some info on this and send to you so you can take it to your mom's doctors. She needs to find out if damage has already been done to her respiratory system. There are ways to help this if it has in fact happened, but first they have to find out for sure. Prayers and hugs to you and your mom. We are all here for you. Her doctor didn't seem to agree . I had an doctor appointment this morning for some blood clots I have . My sister is going to call later when they get settled . Guest guest Posted May 6, 2001 Report Posted May 6, 2001 Dear Lu , No they took mom to a hospital in Kingsport ,Tennessee . Vandrebilt is about 300 miles from there . She would not go that far , she likes being close to home . she came home Friday . She was better bad yesterday , we went to her Doc , at his house , he odreed Oxygen , and raised her Pred to 120 a day . He told us there was nothing else they could do but keep her comfortable .
