Guest guest
Trish, The worst happened yesterday - I miscarried the baby last night. Started having severe cramping and then the next thing, started expelling. I bled profusely for about four hours and then it tapered off a bit. I am bit numb. I have tissue which my doctor will have tested. I see him tomorrow to make sure that nothing is left and to make sure I don't need a D & C. We knew this could happen in first trimester but had hoped that I would be okay - I don't know how I'll keep surviving the first trimester. I hope that you are well. Sorry to deliver bad news. I am sorry that I ddnt respond earlier my modem is down and I am borrowing someone elses. I really hoped and prayed that this would not have happened. I am broken hearted for you . (crying as I am typing) Were you on progesterone suppositories? hormone issues? or were you on baby aspirin or blood thinner? Have you ever been tested for for any antibodies in your body that could be fighting off your pregnancies? I think u were the one who had a few first trimester losses? Reproductive Endocrinologist may be your next move to make sure... I share tears with you and pray for a happy story soon. please kit in whats happening with love trish
Guest guest
Dear Trish, Thanks for your tears of sympathy - I really appreciate them. It almost made me begin to cry (again) to read that you were crying for me. It's not the same as when we held our still born sons but it's a lot to bear and we had so much hope. I do feel better this week. Yesterday we visited the cemetary and I felt very peaceful about that. Because I had had three first trimester losses before I got pregnant with my two boys, I had been through most every kind of testing there is and everything was always normal. The difference with my two boys was that they were the first pregnancies that I was on progesterone so I think it must have made a difference. I was on progesterone suppositories this pregnancy from almost the day we were pregnant so I think it was likely something else. My doctor said that usually if you have seen a heart beat as we did and you lose the pregnancy after that then usually it's a chromosome thing - we are having the genetic testing done on the tissue we took in. My doctor has confirmed that the gross pathology on what we took in was "the products of conception" as they call it so they have the sac and hopefully testing of that will give us some answers. My doctor, who is a matenal fetal medicine specialist is extremely proactive. He wants me to be tested now for some other obscure condition even though he doubts that I have it. Also, my husband and I have both had chomosome testing and everything has been normal - we don' t have translocations. This new test though is something that could pick up a condition that I have not been tested for before - it's called Skewed X Inactivation. My doctor said it's very rare but why not test for it anyway. Also, after my next period, he is going to do another hsg test to check out my uterus again. I'll keep you posted - thanks again for sharing the grief of our loss. Re: To Trish from Trish, The worst happened yesterday - I miscarried the baby last night.
