<< Hi all, I went to my Dr's tuesday for TMJ, ok please don't ask me to

spell what that stands for but its not CMT related. It has to do with a

problem of my jaw joints. OK I'll give the spelling a shot here goes,

Temporal Mandular Joint Disfunction. Any way I had noticed that my throat

inside is becoming lopsided! The opening, so I showed my Dr. and he said to

see my neurologist ASAP as I have right side atrophy of my throat!!!! Have

you ever heard of this? I haven't! And I noticed that the right side of my

neck is narrower than the left too. My G.P. said if the left side atrophies,

then I'm in real serious trouble with eating and even breathing. This is

just too weird, I have never heard of this and never with CMT. Oh my cousin

was just diagnosed with CMT and her 26 year old daughter also. So if any of

you have heard of this please let me know. >Becky M.

HI Becky, I also have TMJ too. I have more muscle on the right side of my

face then left. How long have you had TMJ? I think it is related to CMT.

Why don't you think CMT is not related to TMJ? Maybe I am right behind you on

this throat thing.

, I have had TMJ for 10 years now. I don't think its CMT

related due to the fact so many non-CMT people have it. My Dr. wants me to

see my dentist to have a guard fitted to wear at night to prevent grinding

and gritting my teeth. >Becky M.

OK gang-- add me to the TMJ list too!!

I have had it for a number of years and although I don't think it is a part

of CMT, I do think it comes from all the physical stress CMT puts on my

body.

BTW- I used to go to an oral surgeon ( I think he was anyways) and I had a

mouth piece made for while I am sleeping. This helped a lot. BUT then my

chiropractor started to work on it years later and WOW what a huge

difference!! SOOOOOO much better and for such longer periods of time. I

cannot sing the praises of my chiropractor enough for al my ailments!

Thanks

Becca
