Guest guest Posted December 22, 2003 Report Share Posted December 22, 2003 Hi Ginger, congratulations on your pregnancy. I have lost 5 babies, 2 whilst having the Shirodkar stitch in place. When we have had the results from both of these pregancies it has always shown that there has been infection on the surface of the placenta. In my last pregnancy I was swabbed for infection every 2 weeks and did take anti-biotics when they detected Steph Aureaus (not sure of the spelling). I was given the all clear regards infection at 20 weeks but lost my daughter at 22 weeks. If we decide to try again and have the ab stitch done the docs have recommended that I take anti-biotics from 12 weeks onwards and rotate the type on a weekly basis. It may be worth discussing this approach with your docs.
