Guest guest
Dear Colleagues, I am pleased to welcome you all to the recently expanded Migrant Health Research eGroup. Thank you for agreeing to participate in this dialog. I hope that it will be rewarding for all of us, and appreciate your interest in migrant and seasonal farmworkers. This egroup has been estblished, by popular demand of a large group of individuals who have been participating in the research tracks at the stream forums for the past two years. Through those conferences we have identified a critical mass of individuals of all disciplines who are interested in fostering or conducting research on migrant health issues. As you are all aware, the lack of solid research on farmworker issues contributes to our inability to positively impact on their health status. We all have plenty of anecdotal information, but it is not backed by the appropriate data and analysis. We hope that this dialog will help to foster significant research projects in this arena. Hopefully, each of you has followed through on the ideas which were generated through your involvement at the stream forums in at least a minor way. In the immediate future, we will be posing several questions to the egroup to ask how this collective effort has helped you to focus research on farmworker issues. We will be sending you a few simple questions, asking what you have as a result of this national push for migrant health research. I hope that you will respond to those questions when you receive them. Please remember: 1. If at anytime you decide that you no longer want to be a part of this dialog, all you need to do is " unsubsribe " in the appropriate place at the bottom of this page. And, 2. If you only want to respond to one person, you should not hit " reply " on your email message, as you will end up communicating to the whole group. Interest in this group is incredible, we have almost 200 names on this egroup list, so housekeeping details like this will help to keep it managable for all of us. Thanks again.
