Guest guest
Hi Glenda, Well I'm doing okay but I was alot better before I started work. My sed rate is slowly creeping up and I've been sick from colds for 4 of the past 6 weeks. Both colds I got from co-workers, doesn't that just figure! The hours are very long but it is not as stressful as my last job and I only have two more months to go. Most of the wedding stuf is done thankfully because I'm not having much time to do anything else but work and sleep. Anyhow I have to go to work, this is my 6th day and I don't get a day off until next Saturday, that's right NEXT Saturday, 7 days from now! Take care hope you are well, Elaine Re: Elaine Elaine Good to see you post! Hope you are not getting really sick again. I sure miss your posts but glad you are working. Guest guest
Hi Glenda, and Judy, Sorry that I'm answering all your eamails in one but time is at a premium these days. Thanks for the concern but I can't slow down. This is a four month contract and if I don't stay on track I'll run out of time. Then I'll be working on my wedding day!!! I'm working for the government on the Census and you can't desert your post it's sort of like being in the army. Well at least there is only two months to go and it will all be over, I can hang on that long. Hope you are feeling well. Take care, Elaine Re: Elaine Elaine, Wow please take it easy. Guest guest
Hi Aldyth, What's really interesting is the number of women who have taken these drugs before developing GD, myself included since we used them for all-night study sessions and exam cramming when I was in college. These drugs do cause biochemical changes that affect hormone levels. Since the experts list diets and diet drugs as triggers for GD, they likely have some solid proof, but you'd still have to have the genes that make you susceptible to developing GD in the first place. And stress is listed as the top trigger. Take care, Elaine

Guest guest
Hi, 120 mg Armour is a moderate, not high dose. For instance, my friend with mild Hashimoto's is on 120 mg Armour, and I'm on 180-240 mg Armour. Radioiodine stimulates immune system cells and this causes an increase in TSH receptor antibody production. Estrogen is also a trigger so hormone replacement therapy can trigger symptoms. More importantly, estrogen competes with thyroid hormone for binding sites and HRT causes a decrease in thyroid hormone levels. Take care, Elaine
Guest guest
I take 120mg twice daily for a total of 240 mg daily. I thought that was a pretty high dose of Armour. Thanks for the info! > Hi, > 120 mg Armour is a moderate, not high dose. In my last pg I had my same ab cerclage and had bed rest from 6 weeks till I delivered at 35 wks. That was a wild pregnancy though. bleeding issues and water breaking. However my other 2 pregnancies I lost my first one I lost w/o stitch and was dx with IC and my second pg with twin girls I was given cruddy medical care and wasnt aware of the ab cerclage so I was given an shirokdar and mcdonald and a peceray in place but it ripped and at 17 weeks an emergency ab cerclage was placed but to late I ruptured. So this last stitch was placed last pregnancy and still doing well.. so wierd how every pregnancy is so different. Guest guest
Hi Elaine, I hope you are having a good weekend. I am doing well. Just lounging around the house as usual. I am feeling good- I get some bh contractions once in awhile and some achiness here and there, but overall doing ok. I read your story about the experience in the store bathroom! Don't you hate when that happens??? Usually AF starts off very light for me, but I have had the occasional " surprise!! " It doesn't surprise me that AF was a little weird this first time after the ab. I was told once (with a different kind of female surgery) that it takes a cycle or two to get back to normal... hormones are relased when you have female surgeries that can screw up AF. I hope you have a wonderful Holiday. I will be thinking of you and hopefully Santa will send you lots of baby dust!! Cindy
