I recall getting one of your emails where you had suggested to me to find (and follow) a doctor that I will feel comfortable with..Well, on your suggestion I have made several appointments for consultation with 3 doctors. One of them is in Chicago, the other two are in NYC. I think that if you are serious about the abd. cerclage, you should see whomever you need to see in order to make your dream of a baby come true. If that means traveling out of state, or tracking the doctor down, than that is what you need do.

Relax, breath and take it easy in the meantime. The great thing is that you and your husband are finally ready to try again. That is a big step. Let me know what you'll decide to do.

Hi everyone - If you will remember I found a doctor in Nashville who performs the abdominal cerclage. He has done 113 of them with a very high sucess rate. I have spoken with him on the phone and he was scheduled to be in Memphis today to start working here. He was previously with Vanderbilt Hospital. I called his secretary today ahere in Memphis and she said he is not here. She could not tell me really why except it was politics. She told me to call back in a few days. I asked her if he is here in Memphis just maybe not working and she said no. I am not pregnant but am planning to get pregnant as soon as I can consult with him. I have been waiting for this day for a while now and then this happens. Should I try to hunt him down whereever he may be? What do you all suggest? Hi Taryn -

You are right. I need to calm down. I guess I just had myself all

geared up to talk to him today. I have not officially made an

appointment to see him. I just told him I would like to meet him in

person and he said to call him on Dec. 1 to make the appointment.

Enough about me. How about you? Are you taking the news regarding

your cervix okay. Isn't this why we all need abdominals. In case

we do funnel the abdominal is put to use. Is that right? From the

information I have gathered it seems that you are going to be just

fine. The abdominal will hold everything in place. I know you are

scared but believe this is going to happen for you this time. When

I read your post, I knew you probably were very worried, but I can't

help but think the abdominal is so secure that no matter with the

funneling you will do great.

Take it easy. I will not tell you not to worry because we all

worry. We are not typical pregnant women who don't have to worry.

The fact is we all have to worry.

Keep us posted. Is your mother in law still in visiting?

Taryn suggested I call back on Friday. I know that it probably

takes time when switching practices and that I need to chill out. I

was just so geared up to meet him in person. I work with all

attorneys so I know how it is when they move from different offices

or even states. You have to go through a whole process to get them

licensed. So I am sure that is what is going on with this doc.

I will call again Friday. Thanks for responding.

HMMM this is great, NOT...docters who dissapear on you. I would call

his old hospital and see what they want to tell you. Just say you

spoken to him and you need to see him urgently,

I suggest you try to get a number from the nurse of where he is now. Tell

her this is an emergency and you need to talk to him so you can make your plans.

If for some reason you do not catch him, I would suggest trying to find

someone else. I know that 113 procedures sounds so very good, but there are

other

doctors who will probably do just as good of a job even if they have done a

lot less of them. Mine had only performed about 20+ in the many years of

practice. It has been 5 years since his last one prior to mine.

According to the docs, it is really not that complicated of a procedure. Try

not to stress yourself out over this doc. You have gotten this far - the

important thing is that you do not give us and keep searching.

The only problem is he has already left Vandy. I do have a contact

here in Memphis who is an Administrator at the hospital Dr.

will be at. He is trying to get some info about what is going on. I

am not pregnant so its not an emergency. I am giving it a few more

days and then I will call back.
