Guest guest
Congrats Deb on the 36 pounds! Sounds like you're doing wonderful. I can't wait till I'm in your shoes:) I would take it slowly now that you can introduce 'real food' into your diet. Everyone on the board seems to be able to tolerate different foods so what works for one person may or may not work for you. Take it easy and keep up the good work!!! Guest guest
First off, Amy, sorry to hear about all the allergies. Although now that you know what to avoid, hopfully things will move in the right direction! So many of those are similar to what we have also. Not easy to avoid them all, but possible! Let's see now, I hope everyone else is doing well! I've been MIA still/again. Up until this past Fri. I had an extra child (3yr old) for 9 days. I was way more busy than I would have liked! Now I'm at my parents house for the week! Enjoying every minute of having nothing to do! Things are going well for us. My biggest fear is still this nasty nasty flu! So far so good as far as avoiding it. I've been stuffy the last couple days (since I got to my parents) and I'm trying to decide if it is a cold or allergies. I haven't felt bad, just stuffy. I worry about it though! We went and saw a nutrionist for Sam on Fri. Found out that I'm probably only getting him enough nutrion in one area. So I've been working hard at trying to meet daily requirments for every other food group. Not going to be easy since we have so much cut out of our diet and the fact that he is a picky toddler! The good news was that the end of Jan. we'll do a food challenge for soy. If he can handle that, it would be so much easier to get in all the fats, calcium, and other requirments! Until then, we will still have to do our expensive formula! As for me, I'm feeling good. I have just under 6wks before this baby arrives. I'm feeling so happy that this one goes to his parents and I get to come home and sleep! (For those who don't know- I'm a gestational surrogate for a friend) I've always wanted 4 kids, but I'm so happy this one isn't mine- timing isn't right! We are busy with the holidays, and looks like it will stay that way until the beginning of Jan. Then I'll have Sam's 2nd b-day party- then a baby right after that! Should make things go quickly! Hope everyone is doing well! Stay healthy- avoid that nasty flu! We've lost 11 children in CO so far this year. 3 or so from Pueblo! YIKESSSSS!!!!! Guest guest
Trish, Glad things are going well with you! That flu is so scary! I can't believe how badly it is hitting children! It is so sad! Good luck with doing a soy test. I would LOVE for to be able to have soy. It just causes him bad eczema but we keep it away from him anyway. I don't want and itchy kid lol! That would be cool if Sam could have soy too! Talk to you soon! *Alyssa*Wife to Mom to - Anaphylactic to peanuts, cashews, brazil nuts, macadamia nuts, and pistachios. Allergic to all tree nuts. Sensitive to dairy and soy. Eczema. & - no allergies My update First off, Amy, sorry to hear about all the allergies.
