Guest guest
Hi there (sorry you didn't sign your name) A sad welcome to the group. I am really sorry for your losses, but I'm glad you found us. I lost my identical twin daughters on 21 July this year with a preventative vaginal in place. My girls had Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) as well though so the exact cause for our loss is not certain. Please feel free to visit our childrens webpages, the addy is in my signature at the bottom. The one thing that is certain is that we won't risk another vaginal cerclage. I live in Australia and ab cerclages are very rare but I'm hoping this will help us to have a live healthy baby. You will find the ladies here really supportive and helpful. Take care Elaine Matt 18 mths – emergency vag/cerl 24 wks, 11 weeks bed rest then delivered 35 wks PROM and cord prolapse. Paige and Amy – preventative vag/cerl 14 wks, delivered alive 20 wks, passed away short time later wrapped in my arms. Babies were suffering from chronic Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). Unsure whether I/C, TTTS or infection caused contractions, which resulted in cervix dilating and stitch to fail. http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/m/matty2002/ http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/p/paigeandamy/ > Hi everyone. Guest guest
Welcome, I am so sorry for your losses. My cervix is also very weak and dilates and shortens early in the pregnancy. I made it to 35.5 weeks with the ab cerclage placed at 11 weeks. There is hope!!!! It is worth it! I was also on bedrest most of the pregnancy. Love, P. Guest guest
Welcome to the group. Sorry for your losses, it is a terrible journey to discover IC. I had one normal pg, then a cervical conization which caused cervical issues. My second pg with triplets and I had a cervical cerclage done as a precaution because of my past history and the multiple gestation. The cerclage failed at 17 weeks and we had a complete loss. Although my cervix is normal in length and doesn't appear during examination to have any scarring or deformities, based on the quick deteriation of the cervix during my 2nd pregnancy, it was determined that an ab-cerclage would be necessary. My third pg came as a complete surprise, we had stopped our fertility treatments and were given only a .01% chance of natural conception. I had my ab-cerclage placed in at 9 weeks and delivered a healthy, full-term baby at 37 weeks; she weighed 8lb 9oz and is now 14months old. When this group was formed, it was a great support to me because there was nothing out there and I am so thankful for it. I hope that you find as much comfort as I have Lori L Graduate Quoting ladyfire1998 ladyfire1998@...>: > Hi everyone. I'm glad i finally found a place where i belong. Guest guest
I am sorry you had to go through all of this. It is very hard to loss a child let alone 3. I was scared and nervous about getting the ad cerclage. I waited 6 months to try again after our loss. The hd and I wanted to make sure that we were ready emotional and physical. I of course wanted to start w/I 3 months. I am glad that we waited. I researched out everything before making a decision. I spoke with several docs getting the advice. Once I had the doc picked out, I asked my self is this what I want. I do not believe that we will never get over the loss of our child(ren). I grieved and then made a decision. I have no problem getting pg. It took one week and we were there. Before I knew it all these feelings started to come up regarding my last pg. I had the ad cerclage placed at 12 weeks and that was a surprising surgery. It was nothing what I thought it would be. It was harder. This is just b/c the way my organs and blood vessels were placed. This is different for everyone. I am now starting my 18th week. I am on moderate to strict bed rest. I was on SBD for 4 weeks then MBR. I am aloud to sit up and go out once a week. However, my hd and I want to be careful so I only sit up for dinner and I go out to dinner once every two weeks. This is your decision. I did it b/c this my last chance and if anything goes wrong I can say, “Hay, I did everything I could”. With no Regrets. I hope that you are able to make a decision. Please feel free to ask any question. This is a risk free zone. God bless, Taryn New to group, needing advice Hi everyone. I'm glad i finally found a place where i belong. Guest guest
HI ????? Welcome to the group. I'm sooooo sorry to hear of your losses. Unfortunately most of the ladies here are all to well aware of the pain of a loss. On a weekly basis I send out an updated list of our members and on there you will find all our success stories. These are the stats: Current average delivery in 28 successful abdominal pg is 35.74w: (11 full term deliveries - > 37w) (10 near term - > 35 - 36w) (7 - > 32 - 34w) (1 failed abdominal cerclage - delivery at 26w3d) (1 delivery prior to 30w (29w) due to pre-term labor - 2nd ab cerclage baby) As you can see they are great stats. I once read in a study that if you took 100 ladies all with failed vaginal cerclages and gave them all an abdominal there was a 90% sucess rate. If you had to give them all vaginals again there would be a 20% success rate. HTH Look forward to chatting to you again Shona ladyfire1998 wrote: Hi everyone.
