Guest guest
Oh Pam that is just HORRIBLE! I wish I could come over there and help you strangle the people at the Dr. office :-( I would have him retested ASAP. Do you have a children's hospital in your area? That is where we have all of Drew's blood work done. Not only are they used to doing blood draws on kids (and have a fabulous bedside manner) but they are quick since all the lab work is done in house. HUGS ----- Original Message ----- Just an update.......finally got the " results " on Jordans RAST test, I had to call, then they lost them so the lab had to fax the results to the doctor.......anyway,,,,,,I asked the results and the nurse said " Dr. G said to just tell you keep avoiding the things you have been avoiding, eggs and tree nuts. " I asked her, " what were the results........were there not numbers 1 to 5 telling the results of everything tested?? " She said " Yes...........but Dr. G said to just keep avoiding the eggs and tree nuts. " I asked her point blank what is said for dairy and wheat........she said " Both are a 3 " . I have heard anything a 3 or above to AVOID. Well, then she said they have been having trouble with the lab results they are getting from this lab I took Jordan to (the one they told me to go to!!) ANyway, she said everything came back POSITIVE!! So she said it was definately a mistake and to just ignore the results and keep avoiding the same things as before. SO BASICALLY I KNOW NOTHING MORE THAN BEFORE THE TEST!!!!! I got so angry, I told her I want the test REDONE with another lab, they are suppose to call me back. What really really bothers me is that the Doctor was just going to let me know to keep avoiding things as before, with NO real definate answer to the things tested!!! I am seriously thinking of changing allergy doctors!!! Sorry but I had to vent! Pam
Guest guest
Pam, I'm so sorry that you had to deal with inconsiderate and incompetent so called professionals. The same thing happen to us. After Charlie's RAST test the doctor only told us to avoid what we have been avoiding and he would talk to us about the RAST test during our appointment. Even though he tested level 3 for several things, the doc didn't seem all that concerned. When we finally had our appointment with him, he said that because Charlie is in such a high allergic state, he is responding positive to everything we tested him for. He said instead of limiting his diet severely, it's best to just avoid all the major allergen, like milk, egg, nuts and such. I have not taken his advice of course. I cut rice and oats from Charlie's diet and his eczema looks a lot better. Hang in there. Guest guest
Pam and Brittany, I too believe in acupuncture. I've been having the most horrific PMS for the last couple of years. I think due to the pressures of kids and just not taking care of myself. I would literally get depressed, irritable, withdrawn, antisocial and plain rude to my husband. My dear friend said to try her acupuncturist / Chinese herbalist. I did and the very first appointment really helped me relax. I felt like someone took out the rod between my neck and shoulders. I also felt like someone went into my brain and sucked all the fog out. I felt centered and happy. I've been going to her for the last three months and have not had the psychotic PMS anymore. It was after my experience with the acupuncturist that I felt more comfortable putting my kids through NAET. I can't tell you that it is working since it's too early to tell. Only thing I can tell you is that Charlie breaks out in mild rash after every session. I just want to share with you what my acupuncturist told me to do with Charlie for his eczema. She had me get slippery elm bark from the health food store and make tea with it and give it to Chuck. It suppose to coat his intestines. Depending on Jordan's age, you can use probiotic instead of slippery elm. She feels people with skin conditions and allergies usually have problems with their bowls. Does Jordan have irregular bowl movements? Sometimes runny, sometimes constipated. The theory is that the toxins leak out in the body causing the eczema, asthma and such. While you are doing this it's also very important to eliminate all sugars and even fruits. Wheat is also supposed to be bad. I couldn't eliminate juice from Charlie's diet so I found this great product call Stevia. It is a sugar substitute found in health food stores in their supplement section. The great thing about it is that you can use it like sugar but it is nothing like sugar. The added benefit is that I got the Stevia Plus with fiber which acts like a probiotic. I put couple of shakes in water and Charlie drinks it like it's juice. His bowls are regular for the first time in his life. I had no idea that normal poop doesn't stick to the diaper and all over his bottom, WOW!! His skin looks so much better, given we have eliminated tons from his diet since the RAST test, but I think his bowels speak volumes. Sorry so long. Guest guest
Pam, You can read about probiotics at www.about-probiotics.org . You can get it at most health food stores in their supplement / vitamin area, usually in the refrigerated section. You can also get probiotics, also known as beneficial bacteria, in yogurt and pickled food. Charlie is two years old and he is getting it from the sugar supplement we use call Stevia plus( can also find at wholefoods). I also use Jarrow-Dophilus non-Dairy hypoallergenic probiotic supplement in capsules. I open the capsules and sprinkle it on Charlie and 's food. I would try it, you have nothing to loose and everything to gain. Mo > Wow Mo! > > What is probiotic? WHere do you get it? Jordan is 7, how old is your son? I am willing to try anything. I got the NAET books Say Goodbye to Illness and Say Goodbye to Children's Allergies. You are suppose to read them before going to NAET. I am seriously considering taking Jordan. > > Pam > > > Re: RAST results........NOT!! > > > > > > > Pam and Brittany, > > I too believe in acupuncture.
