Guest guest
Can anyone help me with this craft I am trying to get together for our MOPS group. I want to do a painted mug with a snowman. I am going to purchase the 50 cent mugs you get at Dollar General . I know I need to prep them with some sort of glaze or something, before painting them. What kind of paints do you use ? Don't I need to glaze them after they are painted as well? HELP!! I need specific names of the supplies or instructions. I find nothing on the internet. Blessings!!! Guest guest
Sure... ask me this when I have no clue what I used! LOL. I made tiles with the kids handprints a couple of years ago for the grandparents for Christmas. I know I treated the tiles with something to clean them, then we used a paint and glazed them. I don't think they had to be oven fired or anything though. Ok, I found this stuff at Plaid Online. I think they sell all of their stuff at 's craft stores. http://tinyurl.com/xhnx I'm pretty sure this is the stuff I used http://www.deltacrafts.com/Paint/PermEnamel/ HTH ----- Original Message ----- Can anyone help me with this craft I am trying to get together for our MOPS group. Guest guest
, Now you got me wanting to do a tile with their handprints for grandparents What do they use the tiles for trivets? Coasters? Did you do them all together on one tile or each have his own? Pam Re: Need help with a craft! Sure... ask me this when I have no clue what I used! LOL. Guest guest
I did tiles that were 6x6 (I think). I got them at Home Depot and they were less than 20 cents each. At the craft store they were 2-3 each!! I backed them with cork. My mom just has her resting against the wall in the kitchen and my mil has them in a corner cabinet with some china in her kitchen. I intended for them to be trivets but neither uses them! I did one for each boy (before was born) and did the right hand for one and the left for the other. I had red and green paint and then used the opposite color for the other child. Oh and I put their names and the year in the color I didn't use for their hands. That sounds really complicated but it isn't. Red hand, green name, and vice versa. ----- Original Message ----- , Now you got me wanting to do a tile with their handprints for grandparents What do they use the tiles for trivets? Coasters?
