I can't believe how fast the time has gone. She is doing great. She wears the sandals 12-14 h/day now. She is crawling like a little speed demon and tries to stand up already. Have you checked out the clubfoot picture board? You should check it out and share some pictures of . I still can't believe how the time has gone. I remember I found this board 2 days after she got her first DBB, what a mess we were in. I thought things would never get better, I just wanted to throw the stupid bar away. I can't believe how things have changed. I always get overly emotional when I think how everyone here has helped us SO much. I don't think we would have stuck it out and known to find a better doctor without the education and support offered here. Thank you. Guest guest
I hated putting Everett in to his own bed, but it let all three of us get sleep. Having me right beside him he was prone to wake up to eat several times a night, plus he couldn't get comfortable cuz he was tangled in our covers or bumping in to us or I was having to pull him back from the edge; a few times he fell off the bed. Dh and I were constantly getting kicked by the bar...in the head, in the gut....the kid was all over the place. So the three of us were suffering lack of sleep. I had none of these issues with my 1st born but with Evy here it just didn't work. and as much as I support co-parenting/co-sleeping and all that - a person has to be open ended enough to accept what works and what doesn't for each particular child. He sleeps pretty good all things considered since we put him in the play pen at night. s. Guest guest
Hi Laurie, It is interesting that you have observed that as well. I recently went through a prolonged crash that I really had major trouble pulling out of (I finally have). I went to get my hair cut by my stylist who's been cutting my hair for 15 years, but doesn't know I'm sick (diagnosed only for about 4 months). Anyway, he asked if I had been going through some form of major stress-that I had lost a lot of hair in the last 3 months. Pretty observant guy. My hair is so thick, the average person wouldn't ever notice and I wouldn't have known except for what kept coming off in my brush. I know you can see this with other forms of severe illnesses as well. just wondering Hi I was just wondering if others have noticed a loss of hair or lack of growth when pushing yourself too much or are crashy. Since stopping work, I am now growing hair on my arms and legs. I'll even have to shave my legs after more than two years. This also happened when I went off the supplements before a biopsy. laurie Medical advice, information, opinions, data and statements contained herein are not necessarily those of the list moderators. Guest guest
I'm glad I'm not alone with the hair loss. I had some loss following the birth of my kids and I know that it is not unusual with the hormone changes. Now I wonder if it might have been due to the mito or a combination. I had never lost all the hair on my body until a couple of years ago. It does make sense that our bodies would use what energy it has for vital things instead of growing hair. laurie > > > Hi Laurie, > It is interesting that you have observed that as well. Guest guest
Laurie and , I also see differences in my hair when things change with the mito. The first time I really saw this was after I had 3 surgeries in 3 months. I lost all the curl out of my hair, which is naturally curly. First, my hairdresser and I thought it was just from the anesthesia, but it lasted longer than it normally does from anesthesia. I notice that when I have had crashes, I can go longer in between haircuts and I find a lot more hair that I have lost. When I am feeling pretty good and have been resting more than usual, I find that it grows quicker and I don't lose as much hair. I thought it was just me!
