Guest guest
Beth: Thank you . I'll give them a call and see if they may know. Take Care Vera My husband and I just purchased a van and in the process of looking I discovered that GM and Dodge both offer "mobility" modifications. Perhaps if you contact GM they could help you find a ramp like you're looking for. Beth
Guest guest
Jerry and I bought a GM full size van (18 mo. ago) and GM gave us a check for $1000.00 to install a bruno lift in the back. We did not use a ramp since he could still transferr into the front seat and we did not want to lose seats in the rear of the vehicle. GM just gave us a form to fill out and submit within 6 months (I think) and we had to handle the rest. We found the lift and took care of installation. Jerry can no longer get into the full size van so we have purchased a Toyota Sienna mini-van and Toyota has the same program. Most of the manufacturers are now offering the mobility reimbursement program. If you look on Bruno's website www.bruno.com I believe they have a list of auto makers with the program. Once we have the turny seat with the corony base installed in our new vehicle we will submit the forms and receive $1000.00 again. Good luck. jan > > > Beth: > Thank you . Guest guest
, Yes I totally agree. Just yesterday a friend of ours, who's niece has been battling leukaemia for a few years and she is only 8 years old, rang to say she had gone blind. Apparently that can happen as it progresses. But her when her Uncle rang her at the hsp. to see how she is she said she was " fine " . Poor little thing. Guest guest
Not sure why it is....maybe so much contact with adults makes them outgoing, etc. But it is true that Mallory manages to win everyone's heart. is quieter, and so very sweet that everyone has always dubbed him our sweet adn good child, lol. Now, JOJO is our little wild one, lol...not that he is not happy, but then none of my kids are unhappy, just wild, lol. Guest guest
I think they appreciate life more because they have this horrible thing. My 19 year old daughter (no cf) ran from home when she graduated from high school all the way to Tallahassee, Florida. She has not had a good month yet. Looks like she is coming home to regroup and get her life on track to start again. In the mean time, Milan is happy as a clam. She is constantly reminding me that she needs her treatments and meds (enzymes). She has even gotten to the point where she is reminding the sitter to make sure she is getting them. She does this because she loves when her doctors are " proud of her " as she puts it. She rarely cries and is always screaching in glee about something. My answer would be absolutely, they are happier and as I read earlier, definately mature faster. I have also noticed that in children with other diseases. The disease and all the treatments creates a maturity in them. ===== Tucker Mom of Milan almost 4 wcf Helping CF families www.milanfoundation.org __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Mo, Let us know how it goes! I am really interested to hear. It does sound wierd, but if all I hear is good things, I pray my DH will listen! Pam Just Wondering We will be trying NAET in couple of weeks. I will keep you all posted on what happens. I first heard of this procedure at a class I took on allergies. I put it on the back burner for a while until I met a mom who tried it on her four yo son. She had only positive things to say about it. Her son is completely cleared of eggs after being serverely allergic. She also said he was allergic to the pool water where they swim and she took a vile of the water and the doc cleared her son of it. I know it sounds a little like voodoo, but I'm open to anything at this point. I'm also going to see a homeopath to see if they can do anything for Charlie's eczema. Alternative medicine is very popular where I live (Northern California). Mo
Guest guest
Does anyone know how much a treatment costs? Guest guest
Mo I'm excited you are trying it! I will be interested to see if it works for you like it has (or at least like I think it has) for us. Our Dr. told us that for really bad allergies it can take 2-3 visits before it is cleared. He only did 1 with Sam on egg and milk then we didn't get to go back. I'm sad to say that it is prue laziness on my part- for the reason we haven't gone back. It is 1½ away. Guest guest
Pam I'm thinking that we paid $40 a treatmeant? Maybe $35. I can't remember. I do know that our insurance didn't cover it. So that was a bummer, but anything to help Sam at that point was worth it. He was having 3-4 reactions (full blown hives) a day. We were constantly having to drug him to stop a reaction then do breathing treatments to keep his asthma from becoming out of controll! Trish > Does anyone know how much a treatment costs? Guest guest
The Chiropractor we have an appointment with charges $175.00 for the first visit and $85.00 per visit there after. It may take couple of visits to clear one allergen. I also spoke to an acupuncturist who charges $150.00 for the first visit and $65.00 for each additional visits but we decided to go with the Chiropractor in the hopes that our insurance will cover some of the cost. Guest guest
GULP! Hope the one we call Monday is more in the range of 40.00! No offense, but I am sure the insurance will not cover it. There is a nurse practitioner an hour from us maybe she will be cheaper?? The other one in Greensboro is a chiropractor. Pam Just Wondering> > > We will be trying NAET in couple of weeks.
