Guest guest
Leigh, I appreciate your support and prayers... I have been in tears off and on today because my mother is giving me grief about trying again. I had a hard time emotionally with my pregnancy and everything that went on. I understand she doesn't want me to go through any more pain, but I have pretty much decided that I'm going to do this (provided I find an answer to the cerclage issue, and if it's shirodkar, <because of scar tissue or whatever> then fine).... I'm going to need all the support I can get. I certainly do appreciate your support and the support of others on this list. Thank you very much. Guest guest
Chele, I am sorry for the misrepresentation. I was not sure who to ask but now i know. I am having trouble. I have changed the e-mail at yahoo however I am not receiving an abbylooper e-mails. I keep getting them in the old e-mail. I signed in then went to my groups, the e-mail profile reads tarynbergstrom, then under e-mail address say tarran2@... (which is the new one). However on the top middle of the page under go to Email preferences-it says I have one bouncing email address. I went under and it shows my yahoo email address. Am I doing this correct? It shows the new email address.on file. The old one will be gone in two days. Taryn

Guest guest
Chele, I don't know what to say Dangit, I hope that the tests were wrong or they got a bad sample. You have had success before getting PG so I would keep that positive thought in my mind. It happened before and it can happen again. I have had 2 friends that went the IVF ICSI route and ended up with zippo, both then got PG naturally and have both delivered healthy babies. One is PG naturally again at age 41 despite multiple IF problems with fibroids, luteal phase defect and MF sperm issues. I hope that sharing their success does not make you feel bad...I just want to share that it can happen despite the bad news from DR.s Hugs, Terri Jo
Guest guest
Hi Chele Been away on holiday. Was great, nice and relaxing. We go again this friday for another week. My Aunt is out from the US so we are taking her to a game farm for a week. Can't wait. I'm doing ok. cd4 here for me this month, so onto our 6th month of official ttc. I was so excited this month because I was due Sat and always spot a day or two before Af arrives and had nothing this month, plus my temps were still up. Took an HPT early Sat mng because I had one in, and it was a dud. No control line or anything. Of course an hour later the witch arrived. Got my hopes up for nothing. I'm going to take it easy this cycle. No temping or anything, and will see my doc next cycle for some clomid hopefully. I'm debating going straight to doing IUI, but am not sure if my OB does it or not. I can go to fertility clinic but they charge a fortune and then it's a complete work up and this and that and I don't know if I have the strength for that. I've got 6months max left and we have already decided that we won't do injectibles or IVF at all and that if I'm not pg by end May next year than the factory is closing down. I'm ovulating normally (which as you know is an achievement and a half with PCOS LOL) so I guess we will just have to see. Anyway sorry don't mean to dump on you. Feeling sorry for myself :-\ Shona Chele wrote: Just wondering how you have been doing. Where are you in your cycle? Chele :-)
Guest guest
Anyway sorry don't mean to dump on you. Feeling sorry for myself :-\ Shona, I'd try a timed IUI before "closing down the factory"...maybe your OB does them? I know you didn't ask for my opinion though! ;-) Sorry about your BFN (in this case, big fat nothing...since your HPT was whacko). I can't tell you how many times in the past I have taken a pg test and an hour or so later, AF arrives in all her (not) glory. Guest guest
I knew that day sounded familiar! Your big days almost here! When are you leaving for Chicago? Kara, We're leaving really early on Wednesday the 19th. I have a clinic appt to see Dr. Haney at 3pm, then surgery is the following morning. :-) Chele

Guest guest
Three days there huh.....did the hospital treat you good? Nurses nice? I am so looking forward to meeting Dr. Haney. I am glad you are well. My turn next week! : 0 )Take care and I will call you soon to compare notes.Happy Thanksgiving!!!! Carol Lynn, I tried to call you, but couldn't get through! I remember you told me last time we talked that you were going out of town right before your surgery. :-) Yes, the nurses were pretty good...the hospital itself is nothing fancy. :-) The food was horrendous. LOL A nurse said to me, "You didn't eat any of your breakfast!" I looked at my tray, then her and said..."Would YOU?" She just laughed and said no...but that they tell people to come for the medical care, and leave the food. ;-) I am so excited for you, Carol Lynn! It's so funny that we originally talked about being there at the same time...well, that's pretty close! Tell Dr. Haney I said Hello! Guest guest
Thank you for the welcome. I have been lokking at the message board for some time, and just recently got up the courage to preticipate. I am 32 years old. I have lost a total of 6 children. I also suffered from a blighted ovum in a previous pregnancy. I am originally from a small town, and didnot know that there were procedures to help me prevent pregnancy loss. I was diagnosed with incompetent cervix in 2000. I had a vaginal cerclage placed with my last pregnancy, but lost my son at 22wks. A rescue was attempted, but by that time I was funneling, my cervix had shortened, and I was in PTL. The Dr.s were unable to stop the progression. Is there anything to stop PTL? Thank you all for being here. It makes me feel so not alone. That there are other people like myself.
Guest guest
How have you been feeling? Kara Kara, I've been doing great! Actually, my incision was bugging me yesterday...I noticed I was leaking again, but only a little. It had stopped for a couple days. It's just this one tiny area, so I put a little square of gauze there. Also, I'm having another AF. Or maybe it's the same one, I dunno. AF was due around the time of my surgery, and two days after, I started bleeding. It lasted 5 days, the typical length for me, then it slowed down to spotting. Then I had nothing for 2-3 days, and now a couple days ago, it's back with a fury. Other than the above mentioned issues, nothing else outstanding. I can't believe it hasn't even been two weeks since I had my surgery. I have recovered wonderfully. I do have the first of several concerts this coming weekend (if you remember, I was concerned about standing and singing). Well, when I returned from Chicago, I was so sore and not feeling good. Dr. Haney told me for awhile, I may only give about 75% of the volume while singing, instead of my usual 100%, but other than that, I'd be fine. Well, since my choir director insists on performing classical baroque pieces live without microphones of any sort, I figured...I'm not going to kill myself up there trying to belt out the Vivaldi solos. So, I let my choir director know that I am bowing out this season as his alto soloist. He wasn't happy, but he understands. Anyway, I'll be there for the concerts, feeling great, as it turns out! I am looking forward to the new year and TTC (hopefully, we can continue with treatment soon). I was saying to DH last night...too bad we don't live closer to Chicago, as I'd love for Dr. Haney to do our IUIs. Chele :-)
Guest guest
I'm so glad that you'll be able to sing. I'm sure you were really dissappointed when you thought you couldn't sing. I love to sing but can't carry a note. When I sing to Will my DH cringes but at least Will seems to like it! Doesn't seem your surgery slowed you down all that much! Not like your tonsils! Since I was only 2 hours away from Dr. Haney, if I had to go through any sort of fertility treatment I was going to travel to him. I told my dh that if we have any issues in the future that I will definitely make the trip to Chicago because he has all of my trust. He just makes you feel like everything is going to be OK and I'm a bit of a skeptic so that was really important to me. I'm so happy that your feeling better and are looking forward to ttc! Guest guest
Chele, Thank you for getting back to me so fast. I'm so happy I came across this group. Would you believe I'd never even heard of funnelling before I did? Makes me wonder what ELSE can go wrong with a pregnancy. Every time I turn around there's something new. Do you have any idea how PROM can occur even when the cervical stitch remains intact? I think I'm especially prone to infections. I was on antibiotics with this last pregnancy because I had one that just wouldn't quit! I was worried about it harming my baby. I've been reading articles etc. on line, but interfacing with women who are actually experiencing this is so much more informative. Thank God for you guys. Guest guest
Chele, I just wanted to tell you that Dr. Haney told me and my DH that sperm count can be effected by the mans surrounding when they are " taking care of business " . I suppose that's why they do post coital sperm counts and also why RE's and Urologist's have reading material and videos available for the men to watch. Dr. Haney also told us that the reading material and videos are less effective in rasing the sperm count compared to the post coital count. Just thought I'd share. Always, Kara > Chele, > > I was curious how you are feeling today? How is work and the hd? Though with us, I guess it doesn't matter, since we have to do IUIs *anyway* to conceive at all, and DH will have to obtain a sample in these surroundings for the IUIs regardless. Thanks tho! Guest guest
I didn't read this before I sent the last one. I imagine the pressure to have sex for the specific reason of a count can really effect a man. They can't handle much can they? Now if it were up to us, we'd make sure it was done right...lol! And people say woman are the weaker of the 2 sexes, I beg to differ! > Dr. Haney also > told us that the reading material and videos are less effective in > rasing the sperm count compared to the post coital count. > > > I should also add, I guess...that we have failed our post coital tests miserably. > Chele

Guest guest
Its too bad that I would not get a chance to see you at his office either. I hope that this doctor will tell me what I want to hear. I don't think I want to have another vaginal cerclage, even the modified on. But, will hold off to make the decisions until later on.
