Guest guest
Trish, I looked this up and it almost sounds too good to be true. I did find several doctors near us (maybe 2 hours away) who do this! I am scard of what my husband will think!! Did they make him hold the food he was allergic to while they tested his left arm?? I read that is how they do it. Then they go into the accupuncture. Do they stick them near the spine?? Pam Just wondering... Have any of you heard of NAET? It is a treatment done by a chiropracter. The reason I ask- I do don't believe in "WEIRD" treatments. I'm very cautious about what I "feel" is right or not. So anyway, my chiropracter (a Christian) told me I should try this out b/c they see AMAZYING results with allergies. So we took Sam. Now I have little to base this on- we never had blood tests done BEFORE this- but now Sam's numbers are VERY low! And, he has WAY less reaction than he did before. Also the only 1 thing I can report- Sam is/was anaphalytic to egg. He had this reaction in the allergists office. We had to treat with with all the standards- including 3 or so days of oral steriods! After having Sam treated for egg- he actually got a peice of egg and had NO reaction. Now I certainly haven't given him these foods- I'm still a bit paranoid! Here's how it works. I call him the crazy Dr. who does VOODO! He really does very little- but does do accupressure (with a lasar- for kids Sam's age) and really that is about it for hands-on! The rest is weird, and I can't even explain it! But, there is really something to it! Anyway, we haven't been since Feb- b/c Sam got so sick from virus stuff that we just never went back- but I've seen such improvement that I'm going to make another appt ASAP! Just wondering if anyone else had ever heard of this- or done it!My final note- I don't know why, but it seems to work! You might all want to do a little research online. But, my warning is it sounds very weird and a little to good to be true! But, I have seen incredible improvement with Sam. Oh, and I forgot to add- it used to be that simply touching milk would cause him to break out into MAJOR hives and then everything would snow ball from there- I caught him on the table a few days ago -playing in a cereal bowl full of milk (and I THINK- he might have even drank some) but he had NO reaction! It is always possible that that he is outgrowing some of this- but it was only about 7-8 months ago that some of this testing was done!Trish
Guest guest
Pam Our Dr. used little SEALED vials that had the name on them. B/c Sam was so young- they used me for the arm thingy- I tell you, it was freaky! Seriously, I could hold my arm up fine before they would give him that vial, and then no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't keep it up! My dh was there and watched for any " tricks " he might use- like hitting a pressure point on me. But, he always kept his hand flat- and went in the exact same position on my arm. It was weird! Dh and I were both a little weary of this- but we figured that it wouldn't hurt- and maybe it would HELP! Trish > Trish, > > I looked this up and it almost sounds too good to be true. Guest guest
Pam He is 18mo. We did this starting back in Dec. and went to Feb. until he got sick. So he was 11mo to 13mo. Guest guest
Pam We did about 8 treatments (I think). They did one each with egg, milk, B vitamins, and dang, I can't remember what else! We really did notice a difference. As I said earlier- it has been pure laziness on my part as to why we haven't been back. I will stress again though- it seems VERY VERY weird, but give it a shot! THey will tell you (or are supposed to tell you) to avoid whatever they did that treatment for 24 hrs- then it should be ok- unless it is a severe allergy then it could take 1 or 2 more times! I sure hope it works for you! The way I figured it- it wasn't going to make him worse- it could only HELP! Trish > > Trish, > > > > I looked this up and it almost sounds too good to be true. Guest guest
Pam Accupressure is simply that- they put pressure on certain spots of the body. But since Sam was so small and even the pressure might " hurt " or scare him- they used a laser. He just points it at each spot and leaves it there for just a few seconds. There is NO pain at all! As for what they treat- our Dr. did his own evaluation of sorts. Basically they took a general history of what was going on with Sam. But then he went above and beyond that- like saying that Sam was having problems with his digestive system- that is/was true but I NEVER said it, wrote it down, nothing. He also said his body was having problems with B vitamins. I have no idea how true that was- but he told me that many times children have problems (or adults) with things like minerals or vitamins and then their bodies freak out with other foods. I tell ya- it freaked me out and amazed me at the same time! I just know that way back before we had " real Drs. " they used natural meds and natural fixes. I think that often we are quick to jump to meds- when we won't trust other things. I only started believing that after my homebirth with Sam. Funny how somehting that used to be the norm is now a " freaky " thing! Trish PS- I don't mind the questions! > > > Trish, > > > > > > I looked this up and it almost sounds too good to be true.
