Bubbles from the Heart

Make the bubble soap and pour into a beautiful container. This is a fun

Valentine's Day gift for kids and grown-ups alike.

Materials:

.. 1 quart of water

.. Dishpan

.. 4 T dishwashing liquid

.. 4 T glycerin

.. Drop of red food coloring

.. String and plastic straws

.. Pipe cleaners

.. Baby food jars or other small containers with lids

Directions:

1. Put the water into the dishpan.

2. Add dish washing liquid and glycerin to the water. Drop some food

coloring into the pan. Mix by stirring gently.

3. Make a small bubble blower. Twist one end of a pipe cleaner into a heart

shape.

4. Make a big bubble blower:

. Thread one yard of string through two plastic straws.

. Tie the ends of the string to make a loop.

. Put the string blower into the dishpan. Submerge the string loop in the

bubble mixture.

. Take it out by holding onto the straws. Pull the straws gently but

quickly through the air and watch the big bubble float!

5. Use pipe cleaners to make wacky and wonderful bubble blowers.

6. Put the mixture into a jar. Fasten the bubble blower or blowers to the

side of the jar. Or, put it in a box with the jar. Decorate the jar with

Valentine's Day designs.

7. Give the bottle of bubble soap and bubble blower(s) as a gift. Write out

bubble-blowing directions on note cards. Make a Valentine's Day card to go

with the gift set.

8. Consider using bubbles as a Valentine's Day party favor.
