Guest guest
Kim, I am counting the hours. We had three contractions in one hour. the last one lasted 26 sds. It was so painful that I started to do the breathing exercise and I was sweating along with red blotches on my body. The hard contractions are hell. Usually my contractions are heavier at night. during the day they are tight and crampy but are only a few seconds long. Then after they are done my vagina throbs like it is doilated. I get pms cramps down by my incision and I feel things that I shouldn’t feel. The nurse did talk about b/h but said that if they contractions last long then 2o sds and has pain with it that they are real. Do yours last this long? Do you feel the same thing? I am always on my back b/c the sides hurt so much that I will not be able to sleep on them. I love my right side. the baby likes to sleep on the left side of my stomach in a ball. My hd and are going in sane. Last night when my contraction hit it brings back so much pain from our last pg. when you started contractions do you feel the same way? Do you have real contractions? You went to the L & D last week, were those contractions or b/h? how many times a day do you wear your monitor? Do you feel more confident with the monitor? Can you put it on any time for as long as you want? How does it work? If you had contractions at night, can you wear it all night or just for an hour? I have all these questions b/c excuse my language but “ I am scared as h-ll to go into ptl at low gestational age”. I feel that I am going insane. I sometime get sharp pains down their but no tightness. I am so worried that I have come this far only to lose it all. the pain of losing our son relives in our mind every time I get a contraction. How do you feel now and when you were in the grey zone? I look up to you so much. It must have been so scary for you in the beginning. I wish I could have been their for you during that time. Now look at you…you are 33 weeks. you are in safe zone but still have some fears. Whst are your fears? Thank you for sharing with me. God bless, Taryn Taryn > > Hi Taryn, > I hope all is well. Guest guest
, Thank you for thinking about us. It is hard to tell the difference. He said that contractions last longer then 20 sds. I don’t know the difference. I could swear that I was truly having contractions. He told me just to write it all down and if I had 4 or more to call him at the hospital. His office is closed for a week but they still are on call at the hospital. It was nice to hear good news. We were thinking the worst. I just want all this over with quickly, as I am sure you feel the same way. We do not need an added worry to the ones we already have. I am glad that you are feeling good and well. God bless, Taryn TARYN It was so wonderful reading your recent doc visit update. I loved all the GOOD news you had to share. I am excited as all get out for you. I been worried since you been having those contractions. That scares me to death. I dont remember having braxton hicks with other pregnancies they were always contractions before loosing them, so I wont know how to tell when I do get a braxton cx I will prob assume REAL CX. How can you tell the difference, did they say? I take heparin 2 times a day not because of bedrest but cause of all my early losses, so at least by putting myself on my own bedrest restrictions I got that as an added benefit. Clotting in legs is last thing us ladies need from bedrest. Anyway will keep praying for you and watching you cook cook cook!!! Guest guest
Taryn, I know that the ab/cerc could end me up on bedrest too, but from what the peri told me last week if I were to just get pregnant without it I would probably be admitted to the hospital at 18 weeks and remain there. I just can’t do that because it is not possible to live in a hospital when I have a toddler and husband. She told me that she followed an ab/cerc. pregnancy and the women did great and was only put on bedrest toward the end as a precaution. I would hope that would be my situation because I have no network of support here. My family lives around the country. I do have the support of the Mom’s Club here (70 women) that would make meals, watch , houseclean, etc… for me if I needed them too. I just hate to have to depend on people. My Grandma can also come to live with us. She is 83 years old, but would be a great help. I moved from Florida in April. I certainly wasn’t thrilled with my Ob there, so I’m skeptical of doctors at this point. I have to be comfortable with the dr. that I find for an ab/cerc. I loved the peri that I met with last week and she would follow a pregnancy no matter what I decide to do. I’m so grateful for your help, Ida New Member, Ida Welcome to the list, Ida! Chele Abbyloopers Moderator ************************************************************************************ Hi, I am new to joining an on-line group, so be patient with me as I learn what I am doing. I found out about Abbyloopers from Taryn. My name is Ida and I live in Pittsburgh. I am very interested in learning more about the abdominal cerclage. I'd like to educate myself about it and also locate doctors in my area that peform the surgery. I had a cone biopsy done on Valentine's Day this year and most of my cervix was taken. In order to have a future pregnancy an abdominal cerclage is a possibility for a successful pregnancy. I have a 22 month old daughter that I am staying at home raising. I need all the details about the abdominal cerclage and pregnancy there after in order to make some decisions. I so desperately want to have another child. I just don't know how complicated it can be and I don't have a great deal of help here. I look forward to getting acquainted with other women that can help me learn more about the abdominal cerclage. Sincerely, Ida

Guest guest
Elaine, Today has been a emotional one. I had a hard sleep. my sides are killing me and I couldn’t find a position to lay in. I couldn’t help but think of our son today. I think that getting to 28 weeks will be fine. that the baby will have to be in the NICU but the baby will not have the same problems as our son. He had RSV, 4 cranial bleeding and etc. even if I get to that week there are no gaurentees that the baby will be healthy. Sorry, I am being a worry wort. Time is just going so slow. I am doing well. I did nnot sit up so much. Tomorrow we are going to have brunch a buffet brunch. All you can eat….. Monday I have to go get my diabetic reading done. I get the blood taken then I have to stay at the blood place, which is not the cleanest place for an hour. I am a little worried b/c of being out two days in a row for two hours. Oh well, worry, worry, worry, that is the of my life. I never thought that being pg again would bring up all the painand grief of our son. I thought it would be different. I know that THERE ARE NO GAURENTEE caps locked. How are you doing? I hope you aree having a good weekend. I cannot wait till the holidays are gone. It is going to be so hard for me and the others. I am excited to go out tomorrow for food. I must may sure not to over do it. I am going to have lunch with the hd. Take care. God bless, Taryn Taryn Hi Taryn how are you? Have you been going along with the MBR? I hope your feeling relaxed and trying to enjoy your pg. Like I said last message, in a couple of weeks you'll be into a much safer time and you will be feeling much better. You are almost there. Take care and I hope you are having a nice weekend... Love Elaine Abdominal Cerclage placed 2 Dec 2003 – now to TTC. Matt 20 mths – emergency vag/cerl 24 wks, 11 weeks bed rest then delivered 35 wks PROM and cord prolapse. Paige and Amy – preventative vag/cerl 14 wks, delivered alive 20 wks, passed away short time later wrapped in my arms. Babies were suffering from chronic Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). Unsure whether I/C, TTTS or infection caused contractions, which resulted in cervix dilating and stitch to fail. http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/m/matty2002/ http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/p/paigeandamy/ Yahoo! Guest guest
HUGGSS Taryn, I am sorry you are having such a hard day.... I am sure you will make it far past 28 wks and your baby will have not to go to NICU at all. Thanks to the ab cerclage. I know this week is especially hard on you emotionally because of , your little angel who fought so hard to stay with you. Your pg will bring lots of things back, I had the same with my pg after . My body made me remember things, I did not want to think about. Just be careful with going out. Lay down on the floor, if you have too to feel better, or try to get a comfy chair, as far as that is possible. I will be thinking about you. and by the end of this coming week, we all survived Christmas. I will be sitting in the Christmass mass on 24 December, which I am not particularly looking forward to, because our * was laid to rest on the 24th. But I will go to Church and say in my head a prayer for you and all mums on this list and for all angels. love, Ghislaine > Elaine, > > Today has been a emotional one. Guest guest
Ghislaine, You always know what to say and when to say it. some people have very poor timing. I know you are right. Thanks for being their. It will all work out in the end. I know it will. God bless, Taryn RE: Taryn thanks Ghislaine, What a wonderful poem. I love them both. They brought tears to my eyes. i wish I could see the boys graves, I bet their looked beautiful with the flowers and candles. I too miss my son. I have been shedding a tear here and their. I still have the in laws here and it is hard to have a nice cry when they are always around. I would like to have a day by myself. I enjoy them here. They have helped out so much, but five weeks is a very long time to live with some one. for some odd reason this holiday seems to be harder then last year. It may have something to do with me drinking. I went to a lot of parties last year which helped keep my mind of things. I need to have a good cry. Can you feel when a crying time will come? I can and today I feel it but I can't let it out. Our sons are having fun together. I like to think that all of our angels are playing, running and jumping together. I am so glad that is with your boys and not alone. I hope you are having a better day today. A quiet time at the new house. It must have been nice. I too, wish our sons were here on earth. people do not understand how hard it is to loss a baby. You live with it everyday. Some say, she will get over it, you don't. we must keep our head up high and believe that a miracle is going to come our way. I need a minute, I will chat with you later. God bless, taryn Yahoo! Guest guest
Taryn, I figured I’d send a note off to you, since you are on-line so much. I hope that you had a nice Christmas. We certainly enjoyed watching ’s excitement this year. She’ll be two at the end of January, so this Christmas was fun for us. She was content opening only two of her packages and playing with those toys. We had to convince her to open all the other presents before her nap at 12:30 p.m. on Christmas Day. She’s enjoying her new things. It won’t be long and you’ll have a little one to share Christmas with. I know what you mean about the home improvement projects. My husband remodeled our guest bathroom, which had to be done before my Grandma arrived for the holidays. We’ve got more company coming tomorrow to stay with us for a few days too. We had our basement repaired to stop a water leak, so now my husband has to clean up the area down there. There are always projects and they all cost so much. My husband is really handy, so he can do most of the projects himself, so that is good. I hope that you are doing ok. I need to do some housework now. Take care. Love, Ida Re: elaine Elaine, How are you doing? Can you tell that I have nothing else to do but be here on line. I am probably the only one that has posted everyday, even on Christmas. I need this group and it helps me to chat with us. I hope that you had a Merry Christmas. Was Santa good to you? I was hoping that my hd would buy me the mother of angel pen in gold but I did not get that. that was o.k. I am sure that you have been that site. It is rather pricy. Once I am able to get out I will find one that is not as much. We are on a budget. We are getting carpet next month for the babies room and ours. There are so many things that we will need and he gets to do all the shopping. He hates that. I wish I could do that. I just wanted to drop you a line to see how you were holding up. A new year with new beginnings I like that. God bless, Taryn Yahoo! Guest guest
Ida, Is it that obvious that I always here? It just goes to show you that I need a life. it sounds like you have been busy not to mention the hd also. I love to see little ones open gifts. Their faces light up the room. My hd and I joke around and say that when this little has christmas it will only get a few gifts b/c they open two or more they lose interest in the rest of them. When they are small they areso cheap. It is when they are teenagers can hurt your wallet. Especially little girls. I am glad that all went well. I hope the new visits are helpers. I am so glad that ours are leaving. We had his parents here w/ US since 11/24. that is along time but they were very helpful. They ywill back down in March. They will not be staying w/ us. We will be new parents and that will be our time together.i hope that the new year brings you cheer, joy and hope. God bless, Taryn Re: elaine Elaine, How are you doing? Guest guest
Taryn, I have a question that you may be able to answer. Does the ab/cerc. put you at higher risk for ptl? I was wondering since so many are having contractions and such. I didn’t know if that is what they had previously experienced in other pregnancies or it was something related to the ab/cerc. I hope that you are having a good day at home without company. My Grandmother is here with us and we are expecting a few more guests today. ’s godfather is coming from Orlando to stay with us for a few days. He’s bringing his girlfriend and 5 year old nephew. I will busy making meals and such. The joys of company…. My husband took and Grandma out to breakfast, so it is nice and quiet here and I’m able to catch up on a few things. In terms of baby stuff, I would definitely register for the high chair/booster chair that straps onto a chair and folds up for convenience. It is the best thing!!!!! It only costs about $20, but you will get lots of use out of it. It conserves on space in your kitchen area and is great to take out to restaurants in such when your little one is eating from the tray top. The restaurant table surfaces can be so dirty. Register for it now because you will need it so quickly. Also, be sure to register for a potty chair and bouncy seat. I never got a swing, but many people swear by them. I didn’t figure would use it long and it would take up so much space. The bouncy seat worked just fine. There are so many baby items available that it can be overwhelming. Just remember that the baby grows up fast and you really don’t need tons of stuff. Trust me…. Think practical and compact when choosing items. In terms of a playpen, the cheapest works just fine. You really don’t need a bassinet and changing table area. The playpen is just used for traveling mostly and to have on hand at your house when you have little ones visit. I never had a changing table either because it is really a wasted piece of furniture. You can always change the baby in the crib or on the floor. If you can find a nice low dresser that you can use as a changing table that is a much more practical buy because it is something you will keep. All the things seem to add up, so be sure to register for the items so that friends and family can buy them for you. Also, in terms of crib bedding---there is no need to spend 100’s of dollars. The $40 set without the skirt works just fine. You will find that you don’t use the comforter, but only for the baby to lie on the floor on top of. It can all be so cute, but you shouldn’t pay more for the crib bedding than you do for a queen size comforter set. It is just a ridiculous expense and truly they will be out of the crib before you know it. Enough baby item advice. I hope that you are having a good day. I need to work on typing up a letter to send to a few relatives now with the photo calendar that my husband made for them. I’d like to get the envelopes ready for mail out tomorrow. Keep your chin up!!! Love, Ida Re: elaine Elaine, How are you doing? Can you tell that I have nothing else to do but be here on line. Guest guest
My dh also build the crib for Brayden. I am still breastfeeding, but when I returned to work (and started pumping) we used the Avent bottles with the stage 1 nipple. He took to it right away. I have a friend whose child took to the Playtex. At the breastfeeding class they recommended the Avent brand. I tried several different nipples and rejected them all. In terms of the crib, my husband built one for . Company will be gone on January 1st and January 10th. The house is in order for now, but we’ll see how long it stays neat and tidy with two kids. Well, I need to get off the computer now because is begging to play the new toddler software that Craig bought for her today at Target. I hope that your day is going well. There are so many things out their I do not know what to register for. I am taking your advice for the chair and I am getting a hand me down bouncer. I am getting a lot of things that will be hand me downs. I have been looking at Babies r us for bottles and I have no clue which ones are good. They come in a pack. I just need the bottles. The store has more when you go I person but on line the choices are limited. We are going to b uy the crib after he baby is born. I want to shop for it. That is great that you had a little time to yourself. You have your hands full with company. I bet you cannot wait for them to leave. When do they leave? I am sure t hat it will go by fast. i hope you have a great day and not to much of a mess to clean. Take care.
