Guest guest
Zenia, How do the doctors perceive asking for the abdominal cerclage? How many failures does it take to convince them? I’m curious because I want to get one put in place prior to a pregnancy and have not had any losses. I’d rather prevent the loss and try the ab/cerc. Also, how does insurance look upon ab/cerc? My husband wants to know all the money details before we make any decisions. Why didn’t you like Dr. Saltzam? He might be a doctor I would consider based on location. I live in Pittsburgh. I guess he’s not real convinced that one needs the ab/cerc. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Ida Re: Re: 25 week update- taryn Taryn, This is truly a great news! I so very happy for you! When I joined this group, your story was of a particular interest to me, since from the onset you seem to be having such a rough ride. I told myself that if things go well with you I will try to master up enough courage to have another baby (with abd.) And it looks like you might get through this experience in the end with flying colors. I am really and truly excited for you. On my end, I am scheduled to see Dr. Haney in Chicago on Jan 5th for a 2nd consultation (saw Dr. Saltzam in NYC on Dec 8th), whom I did not like too much. Besides, he wanted me to get another " modified Shirodhar's " cerclage and if that failed, place the abd. in the next pregnancy. (the man must be nuts). I think that by the Spring I will know what my next step regarding future pregnancy will be. Reading about your struggles and successes does make me feel optimistic though. Keep up the good work Taryn. You are not alone, even if it may seem this way to you at times. There are a lot of people that are rooting for you! Hugs, Zhenia Yahoo!
