What did you have for dinner last night?

Tom and I finally had a hot dog. It's almost six in the morning, and we're

not back long from the hospital with Shane. He's settled in, and I'm taking

a pain pill, and going to bed. I've been dealing with a pinched nerve since

last Monday, that's why I was asking about the chiropractor.

What was your favorite tv show last night?

Was watching Alligators on Animal Planet before we left for the hospital.

What are your plans for the day?

Nothing, except to take care of Shane.

Did you tell your kids that you love them today?

Always!

Did I miss something? Why is Shane in the hospital? I didn't know

anything was wrong!

Hi Trish,

Thanks for asking! I just posted it late last night in the, "How's it going?" I try to do that every day, but haven't this week, so I just wanted everyone to know why I haven't.

Shane was in the hospital because of a high fever, they were worried about dehydration, and he's now on a broad spectrum antibiotic until they know what bacterial infection he has, (don't have test results back yet) then maybe a different antibiotic, who knows, and I was so hoping he was going to have a better school year this year. He has so many absences due to sickness, and allergies that as he gets into the older grades, and the work gets harder, I don't see how he'll keep up when he misses 1/3 to half of the school year. It's getting to a point now where Tom, and I are going to have to address it, and figure something out, but I don't have a clue as to what.

Last Monday I was shoveling snow, and my back went out, a problem with my nerve again, and was in traction three times last week, that's why I was asking how everyone felt about Chiropractors, and was curious how it was going for . I hope she's feeling better.

Have you thought about an Individual Education Plan? They have them a lot

for kids with hemophilia, because they miss school for bleeds, or can'

get up stairs and things. I think public schools have to provide you with

tutoring and such to help him keep up. But a social worker could probably

explain it better.

Good luck with Shane, and I do hope he's better soon. And yourself!

Hey Donna!

I'm so sorry about Shane! I hope he is on the mend soon.

I LOVE my chiro. I would tell you to run to one if you are having problems

with a pinched nerve. When I left the office from my first visit my head

was spinning because of the lack of pain for the first time in 3 weeks.

I was busy last week too, running the kids around and on Saturday I went

scrapbooking all day (well 10 am to 2 am). My sciatic is bothering me today

so if it isn't doing better after tomorrow I'll pop back in for an

adjustment. The only other thing bothering us is 's thrush (she is

still nursing so I'm being treated as well) and a tumble down the stairs

about 10 days ago that leaves me thinking I've either damaged some cartilage

between ribs or cracked one. It doesn't hurt all the time, mostly when I

carry something, lift anything or try to sleep on that side.

Thanks Ziva!

Up until now he's been doing great, but with the amount of absences he has per school year, as the grades get older, and the work gets harder, I'm just afraid he won't, because of missing so much.

He isn't in public school, and I don't know if the same is required in private school. I'll have to ask.

Thanks again,

Hi ,

Is feeling better? Excuse my ignorance, but what is Thrush?

I'm sorry you fell down the stairs. That had to hurt! If you fractured your rib it'll take 4 to 6 weeks for you to feel better. Most Doctors don't do anything for it, and you're right when you say it doesn't hurt all the time, only when you do certain things. Let pain be your guide, and don't do them until you feel better.

Shane is finally feeling better today, and the fever has gone down. He's got enough of the antibiotic in him to where he's on the mend.

I took your advice, and found myself a Chiropractor. After three treatments I'm starting to feel better. I'll be able to go back to work on Friday.

How is your sciatic? Did you end up having an adjustment?
