Melody - when I am really wanting something like a Danish - I very

lightly toast a slice of very thinly sliced low carb bread, cover it

with a thin coat of either SF ricotta or cottage cheese , then a bit of

applesauce with cinnamon. I get a bit of protein, and the taste of a

cheese Danish. Try it - you will like it!! Amber/FL

Anyone tried new DaVinci syrup?

Dang! What are they trying to do to me? Just read my online

newsletter from DaVinci Gourmet, the one that says, " thinking of

coffee and a doughnut? Fancy a bear claw? " Oh my goodness, they have

a " pastry " flavored syrup now?! Anyone had a chance to try this? Fat

chance (oops I mean slim chance) this would quell my occasional

yearning to partake when they pass around the pastries at work? So

far I have a " just say no " attitude, but it seems the further along I

get (1+ yr out) it seems the more I get the nagging little thought

that sure I could try something I've deemed forbidden, hmmm I'm a

normal eater now, aren't I? But alas, I fear that one will lead to

two will lead to trying three, and when I finally get out of the

ladies room I'll have gained back 120 lbs. Jeez, all this and really

I only wanted to know if anyone has had the chance to try this new

flavor.

Amber,

Now you sound like me! :)

DaVinci just came out with a new flavor called Danish Pastry and I

can't wait to mix it with my Ricotta cheese and top it with a bit of

nutmeg or cinnamon. I spread it on my toasted low-carb bread, also.

Now Now . Come get in my lap and while I rock you and give

you a big hug, I'll tell you a story about " The Land of Fat

People " . This story is sure to quiet your desire and put you to

sleep faster than a lullaby. Of course, it may terrorize your

nights and give you nightmares instead ;)

Did you say you still want that candy? lol

Forgive me if these questions sound stupid-- I am still pre-op and learning. :)

What kind of candy are you wanting? After surgery can you eat things like cream

cheese?

I have been low carbing for about 3 years and I have many recipes that may be

adaptable for post surgery.

I want Stover Maple Eggs. BIG ones. Crunchy on the outside, creamy on

the outside. I want a LOT of them. If I ate enough, could I call them Valium

Eggs?

I eat everything but milk & sugar. Unfortunately, if you handed me even a Milky

Way, that wouldn't do it. I want BIG CHOCOLATE EGGS!

No stupid questions! We've all been through the info gathering and

learning stages of this journey, so know what it's like to wonder about

everything about post-op life. If you have a question, I guarantee, SOMEONE

has the answer. :) Keep asking away.

<< What kind of candy are you wanting? >>

Knowing Vitalady, either chocolate or Peeps. Also knowing Vitalady though,

it can be something really STRANGE that you'd never expect from her because

she goes through very weird phases. lol.

<< After surgery can you eat things like cream cheese? >>

Yes! You can even eat it on a bagel if you want (as all the Atkins people

GASP!). lol. I like to hollow out a bagel (cut it in half, pull out all

the doughy middle stuff and toast it so it's crunchy) and fill it with cream

cheese, lox & onions. YUM! Not Atkins friendly, and I don't do it often

because it sets off the carb monster, but we CAN do it if we choose to.

<< I have been low carbing for about 3 years and I have many recipes that

My husband follows a low carb eating plan and all of his recipes are great

for post-ops. I wouldn't eat them all (fish - yuck!), but I haven't come

across any that wouldn't work for me.
