Guest guest
Melody - when I am really wanting something like a Danish - I very lightly toast a slice of very thinly sliced low carb bread, cover it with a thin coat of either SF ricotta or cottage cheese , then a bit of applesauce with cinnamon. I get a bit of protein, and the taste of a cheese Danish. Try it - you will like it!! Amber/FL Anyone tried new DaVinci syrup? Dang! What are they trying to do to me? Just read my online newsletter from DaVinci Gourmet, the one that says, " thinking of coffee and a doughnut? Fancy a bear claw? " Oh my goodness, they have a " pastry " flavored syrup now?! Anyone had a chance to try this? Fat chance (oops I mean slim chance) this would quell my occasional yearning to partake when they pass around the pastries at work? So far I have a " just say no " attitude, but it seems the further along I get (1+ yr out) it seems the more I get the nagging little thought that sure I could try something I've deemed forbidden, hmmm I'm a normal eater now, aren't I? But alas, I fear that one will lead to two will lead to trying three, and when I finally get out of the ladies room I'll have gained back 120 lbs. Jeez, all this and really I only wanted to know if anyone has had the chance to try this new flavor. Guest guest
Amber, Now you sound like me! DaVinci just came out with a new flavor called Danish Pastry and I can't wait to mix it with my Ricotta cheese and top it with a bit of nutmeg or cinnamon. I spread it on my toasted low-carb bread, also. Guest guest
Forgive me if these questions sound stupid-- I am still pre-op and learning. What kind of candy are you wanting? After surgery can you eat things like cream cheese? I have been low carbing for about 3 years and I have many recipes that may be adaptable for post surgery.
