Guest guest
Sherry, one of the first signs I learned for gall bladder disease was shoulder pain - you are at risk for gall bladder disease after wls. Just to be more clear, it's not the WLS that causes the gall bladder disease, it's the rapid weight loss. When I was in college and dieting/exercising hard, my gallbladder rebelled, and had to be removed. I didn't have my WLS til nearly 20 years later. ~~ Lyn G
Guest guest
And as it was explained to me, when there is not enough fat in your diet to cause the gall bladder to expel the bile, it tends to sit in the gall bladder and turn into a sludge, and then into stones. I had this problem after my trip to the Duke University Rice Diet in Durham - lost 100 lbs on a fat poor, salt poor diet. Not enough action to clear the gall bladder and developed stones. Several years later I had to have the gall bladder removed. Any of us on low fat diets at any time over our lives are subject to this disorder.
