I flew to Cancun just 6 weeks after surgery. I packed some of my

protein in my carry on, and some in my checked bags. I keep all of my

perscription meds with me in my carry on. You can't take pills in any

other container than the original labled container. That is what the

airline told me. SO be safe and take the whole bottles. They check

the name on the bottle with your ID also. All of my bags were looked

threw. They didn't even ask me about the protein.....good thing it

was chocolate I guess :) I also travel with insulin and needles.

You must have the needles and insulin together.

Bye the way........I only had 3 shakes the whole time I was on

vacation. I was too busy having a good time to worry about it. I had

lots of protein in the food I ate.....and a few margarita's too.

I take my protein in the baby PS100 cans.

I put the pills in pill holders. I've always wondered if I should carry empty

bottles or something. EGAD! Look at the biz I'm in. Take a truckload of stuff.

Am always testing something new! LOL!

OH, and have a great time in Vegas. Wish I were going. We were there

just one week after 911 for my Daughters wedding in Red Rock

Canyon...North of Vegas. That town was so empty....nobody was flying,

but we had a wedding! 35 friends and relatives from all over the

country showed up and we had a ball. I love that place. :) GOOD LUCK!

Hi Lyn.,

I flew out of Oalkand CA to Hawaii last month, and had no problem ar all with my

" pre packaged " protein powder. I used the little " snack sized " baggies, but a

measured portion in each...put all of them into a big zip-lock bag...and right

into the suitcase! Of course, it was chocolate, LOL...but I am sure that the

smell of any of the flavors would be a tip-off...just write protein powder on

the front of the big baggie...you should do fine.

I always take my protein in ziplock bags. I take my vitamins the

same way and always in my carry on.

Lyn--

When we traveled pre 9/11 we were instructed to carry all our vitamins in the

original bottles instead of packets. That way if there was any question about

what we were carrying, the contents would be clear. As for the protein powder,

I think ProScore now carries a smaller travel size that would be ideal! Or

perhaps buy samples to take with you since they come prelabled with contents.

In all my travels post 9/11 (including NYC) no one has ever said a

word about my big bags of protein powder and assorted vitamins.

Someone mentioned once said that protein had to be in the original

container to get past security so I took a whole tub. What a waste

of lugage space. I thought I would have problems flying

internationaly with my protein baggies but never have had a

problem. I have had issues, this weekend, with my stick blender.

It made it to Denver with no problems but almost didn't get home.

Security thought maybe I'd whir someone to death.

I wondered the same thing, but I took someone's advice from a while back and

sent it ahead. Thankfully, I'm staying with a friend and just ordered one can

of protein sent to his house so it will be there waiting for me when I arrive!

I'm going to Atlanta, GA in April for a week... Yahoo! Never been there,

looking forward to it.

Good luck in Vegas,

I carry the pills I'm using for the week in seven separate pill containers,

BUT, I also carry the bottles along with the rx on them, and the vitamins

with matching vitamins in the bottles. I HAVE been known to buy cheap vites

just for the bottles since they are small, and put my other vitamins in those

bottles just to use less space. The substance is the same, although the

brand is different. Let 'em figure it out! So far, I've not been stopped

for anything. I carry my protein in the big jugs in my carry on, and load

several bottles for use on the plane. I am always on the run when I travel,

but always manage to get all my goodies in. Got some really weird stares in

Japan for popping my vites and swigging down my protein on the streets, or on

trains...wherever I happened to be when the clock said it was time. It kept

me energetic and was worth all the extra hassle.

Dear Lyn...

I just returned from Los Vegas, and took my protein in the small zip-lock

bags. No problem. However, this is a NEW problem with checking bags. They

put the bags through a scanner, and mine beeped. So they did a physical

check of everything inside of the bag. After they didn't find anything, the

man asked if I packed my bag after putting on hand lotion. Yes, I had used

Rosewater and Glycerin. He said the problem is the glycerin in many

handlotions. They cause the sensitive reactors to go off in the scanners.

No problem at all with the 14 protein bags, not even a question, but I would

suggest you put all bags into one large bag to keep them together, and if

they come open you are still containing the powder.

Good luck on your trip. Naomi

Everyone,

Thank you so much for all your responses to my question. I'm pretty

confident now that the powder will be fine in baggies. I think I'll

take my hormones out of my vitamin baggies though and keep them in my

purse. I can live for a few days without my vits but NOT my hormones.

Thanks, and wish me luck, I leave Sunday. I can't wait, two days

will be a convention, but the rest of the time is for fun. At least

this trip I don't have to worry if the seat belt will fit or not on

the plane.
