Guest guest
Taryn, This is truly a great news! I so very happy for you! When I joined this group, your story was of a particular interest to me, since from the onset you seem to be having such a rough ride. I told myself that if things go well with you I will try to master up enough courage to have another baby (with abd.) And it looks like you might get through this experience in the end with flying colors. I am really and truly excited for you. On my end, I am scheduled to see Dr. Haney in Chicago on Jan 5th for a 2nd consultation (saw Dr. Saltzam in NYC on Dec 8th), whom I did not like too much. Besides, he wanted me to get another "modified Shirodhar's " cerclage and if that failed, place the abd. in the next pregnancy. (the man must be nuts). I think that by the Spring I will know what my next step regarding future pregnancy will be. Reading about your struggles and successes does make me feel optimistic though. Keep up the good work Taryn. You are not alone, even if it may seem this way to you at times. There are a lot of people that are rooting for you! Guest guest
Hello, Today I start my 25 week, which is the same week that I delivered my son last year. My last visit I was told to continue MBR. I had a 3.66 cm measure, small little funnel, and a little shortening. I did not listen to the doc instead I put myself on SBR. On Friday I started contractions or b/h. I am glad to say that when we went to the doc my cervix was 4 cm and no funneling. The stitch is nice, closed and tight. I told the doc that I started contractions and this was confirmed by the nurse. He looked died at me and said no you didn’t. I told him “yes”. He told me that they were b/h not contractions. He said that b/h can cause the same symptoms as contractions. He said four or more to call him. they hooked me up to the monitor and it was a dead straight line. He said that the baby and the cx looks great.. I did ask about the monitor and he said that the cx measurement says it all. he said if I was having contractions like I was the cx would be in the low 1cm and since it was a four that the contractions I had did not affect the stitch. This is what h e calls b/h. He told me to continue MBR. I mentioned that I have not been doing that and he said not to be on SBR b/c I could get blood clots. He said if I was on SBR I needed to have two heparin shots a day. He was very stern about this b/c not telling him that I was on SBE could have caused a major problem w/o the shots. So, I am allowed to sit up a little and go out to dinner once a week. I love my doc, I always did. he told me to come back in three weeks b/c the office would be closed for a week for Christmas. My next appt is the 5th of January. My doc will be out of town for that week so he will not be able to weigh the baby and other measurements. Sunday we are going to brunch buffet at the yacht club. We are going to invite my parents as a little celebration. This check up was a miracle. We were so scared that we were going to be told that the cx was a 1 cm and all that. thank you all for praying for us and givng us the support we need. I do not know what I would do without this group. You all have been a God Sent to me. I must mention that my hd is also wonderful I must say this b/c he is sitting right next to me telling me to write this to you. Again thank you. Please do not stop the prayers, we all need them. God bless, Taryn

Guest guest
Zhenia, Thank you for the loving support. It has been a rough ride. It still will be. You just have to count the days. One day at a time. I am glad you have the appts ready. I am glad that you are going to give it a try or thinking about it at least. Do you have all your questions for those appts? I am sure you do. thank you again for the support. Your message is saved in my personal file so I when I feel down I can pull it up and read it. I hope that you are having a good day. I will chat with you later. God bless, Taryn Re: Re: 25 week update- taryn Taryn, This is truly a great news! I so very happy for you!
