Guest guest
I put my protein shake in a sippy cup and drink it on the way to work. By the time i'm there it's gone and I start my water shortly thereafter I'm at my desk. Good Luck with it! Darlene > I'm 4 weeks post-op and having a hard time with breakfast. Since the surgery I can't tolerate milk or milk products. Please help.<<< It's good that you can't tolerate milk or milk products. Too much sugar! I start my day with a protein shake - every single day. I do mine at the computer with some vitamins, but they could easily be taken along in a cup or glass with a top. If you need something more 'solid' after the shake (the shake helps get a great protein base that WE can absorb), how about a boiled egg (peeled before you leave), a piece of string cheese or a tube of the Squeeze Peanut Butter? If you are to that stage, a part of a protein bar might also be good and they are easy eat in transit. Later on, good choices might include beef jerky, a Slim Jim, or a small bag of microwave Pork Rinds (didn't think I would like these but they are great and don't have carbs). Guest guest
Hi jman: I usually sip a protein drink on the way to work. My favorite morning one is 8oz cold water, 1sc Alpine Vanilla, 1sc natural (unflavored), 1t Coffeemate, 1t decaf instant coffee crystals, 2t d'Vinci sf Irish Cream or Hazelnut syrup. Blend with an ice cube then toss in 3 or 4 whole ice cubes. Sometimes if I feel the need to chew I'll peel a hard boiled egg and cut it into 5 or 6 pieces. Then 3 or 4 slices of bacon from the fridge (that have already been microwaved; I keep a supply for snacks). Micro the egg and bacon for a few seconds and off to work. Sorry, but the days of the drive thru and unwrapping your breakfast are history! Hope this helps. Dale Breakfast Help > I'm 4 weeks post-op and having a hard time with breakfast.
