Guest guest
I am still pre op but I bought a TON (maybe not quite that many-lol) of samples. So far the only one that has been tolerable has been the Alpine Vanilla. For me, I think it is the whey... the smell makes me gag. I have been told that your tastes change after the surgery... I am sure hoping this is true for me. I do like the pre made shakes-- Atkins for thick treats and EAS for a thinner drink, but their protein isn't anywhere near as high. I do drink about 100 to 120 ounces of water a day. Is there an unflavored protein? The reason I ask is because I got my Vitalady order today (thanks !) and I gagged on 2 of the samples! And believe it or not one of them was PS100 choc! And 2 sips of the 5 + 1 straw and down the drain it went. And I am not a picky eater! So weird! I will try the PS100 again with lots more water since I bought the 12oz cutie can. And maybe in the blender with some ice. I have PB55 alpine vanilla & PB55 mocha capp left to try. And of course my amaretto & chai syrups!!! < _______________________________________________ No banners. No pop-ups. No kidding. Guest guest
, When I first started trying the proteins, I knew I couldn't handle the virgin version of them. You might want to try adding something to the vanilla to help with the taste and smell of it. I still don't do them virgin. If I'm taking some to work, I add about 1/2 tsp of orange s/f jello powder and take some s/f Tang to put in when I'm ready to drink it--along with some ice to help mix it up. If you are at home, you might consider adding a couple frozen strawberries or frozen peach slices with ice in a blender. As you can see, I'm not a perv and probably never will be but I've learned to love them when mixed with other things. I also use a lot of s/f syrups and coffee flavorings. Makes for delicious shakes. One more thing I've found: After time your tastes may change and some you didn't like before may become favorites. I didn't care much for chocolate; now I use the PB55 chocolate and even add cocoa powder to vanilla sometimes. Go figure! Guest guest
Chrissy, I used to use the protein 95 from GNC also. I liked it. It is a smooth soy protein with a good taste. I use the whey also now that I found some I liked. The soy protein wasn't helping with my hair coming out. It has gotten some better with they whey. Guest guest
Remember. soy is not near the top of the list on bioavailability of protein, so you probably won't get the same results.
