MY DH (who is not a dr. by the way) thinks i may have shin splints...my legs

are spasaming (though i was able to get a good walk in tonight with NO

WEIGHTS!) and it cramps my leg something fierce to flex my foot...i just hope

i haven't done too much damage in that one walk! DARN IT! And here i

thought walking with the weights strapped on was going to do a world of good!

UGGGGGGHHH!

OK. NOW I can tell you that my fitness mags recommend AGAINST walking with

weights on feet or hands.

It can do immense muscle damage because it has the muscle going in too many

directions at once.

Walking Without The Darn Ankle Weights!

Well...Tuesday was the day i was just *silly* enough to walk with those 5lb

ankle weights strapped on...since that day i've regretted it, heck i even

took the weights back to the store today! They had to be removed from my

house. Tuesday was 1.5 miles with ankle weights. About 15 minutes ago my

daughter, Janelle who's 15 and i went out for a walk...no ankle weights...we

walked 2.5 miles and what a difference...most of the walk was uphill...not

only was it more pleasurable without having to literally concentrate on

picking up my foot with every step (those darn ankle weights were

heavy...imagine a bag of sugar tied to your ankles! LOL!) but it was nice

spending quality time with my lil girl! :)

Sherry--hoping my legs stop spasaming from the walk from......

I'm glad you returned them. Using them are bad for your knees and there is

more risk of injury.

Try doing some gentle stretches to elongate and relax the muscles in your

legs
