Guest guest
Some groups on yahoo are set up as reply to the group, (like GBIC) and some are set up as reply to the individual (like ossg-protein, ossg-vitaminsandminerals, graduate-ossg) - just gotta remember which list youre responding to . I always try to look at the to line before I send the message for this very reason. Or you can always use the reply to all and then just know that in each email you're going (probably) to be deleting one email address. Guest guest
My only response to this is to keep your nourishment up to snuff, and hopefully it will fool your body into complacency. If it isn't looking for nutrition, it isn't going to extend itself, that is my theory, and I'm sticking to it. Bathe that small intestine in vitamins and protein, and it should remain happy. I'm nearly 3 years out...and still losing the odd pound here and there. So, guess I'm doing the right thing! Regards~ Jacque Distal RNY, 5/30/00 Drs. Guest guest
Jacque: Thank God !!! I really needed to hear that !!!! And Yes! I'm up to 120gms of protein a day, never skip my vits, and opt for b-12 shot every 3 weeks.. My hair is 50 % gone , but my weight loss is so great and I feel soooo incredibly good, that I told DR, Rehnke I don't care if I go totally bald , with zipper scars on my head as long as I reach goal weight and remain healthy... I have a life now. I can look in a mirror for the first time in 15 yrs. and not cry.. At 38 I look pretty good.. I have two brown eyes, not slits... I found my feet.. Can wipe areas I won't name.. Don't get the looks of disgust and disdain from strangers, or coworkers.. Can concentrate on living instead of my next binge.. I no longer get my tush stuck in chairs.. People don't panic around me when I get close to their wicker furniture.. Ok..I'll shut up now.. Thank you, , in Haines City, Fl.
Guest guest
, not stupid questions, at all. Without knowing the kind of surgery you had it's hard to tell if you're actually getting all the protein you eat with food. But adding shakes will give you predigested protein, which those of us who have had bypass surgeries can use. I've heard of many people breaking a plateau by upping their protein drinks. Protein bars we treat like food. Not sure how much protein we get from them, but they're a better food choice than, say, candy bars. We don't count their protein. Typically we drink shakes in addition to our meals, but the meals are smaller and focus on protein first, then vege carbs. Your best bet for protein drinks is to order them off the web. You can go to www.vitalady.com and order samples of the various powders to find ones you like. What you want are the whey proteins with very few carbs. Mix with water and ice. I usually use 6 oz of water and 2 cubes of ice. Milk is just a fancy name for sugar, adding more carbs (and for many of us, digestive issues). If you don't want to order online, GNC will allow you to return an opened can if you hate the taste, I understand. ----- Stupid Question > Hi All! > Iam new to the group, and have been reading posts more then > anything. I have some questions about protein and its benifits. I > had WLS 12 months ago, and have done well. Iam down 140 lbs with > the only problem I have been at a platue now for 2 months. Guest guest
Hey everyone... I've read quite a few posts about Glucose Tolerance Testing. Can someone tell me what that is and what it's done for?? I'm assuming it has something to do with detecting diabetes?? I know I could go on line and get the 4-1-1, but I also know y'all are a wealth of knowledge, so I chose to come to you. Thanks!!! Peace....
