> Why can't the worst fruit for us be something really gross like Coconut?

Well according to Pacific Bariatrics, it is!

PB had a lot of patients early on where were Filipino, and they cook with a

lot of fresh coconut. Did you know that coconut doesn't break down in your

stomach, like ever? After a few had to be scoped for the same reason, and

some other research was done, it was part of our food protocol that we

never, ever eat fresh coconut.

I do eat the coconut that comes in the bag from the store, because it's

small enough to pass, but I wouldn't eat large flakes of the fresh stuff on

a dare. Never been scoped, don't wanna!

(who agrees that it would be much more fair if we could eat more

watermelon!)

Sorry if I missed something, but why can't we eat watermelon? I'm newly post-op

(9 days), and just trying to get a good handle on things. I read this group

every day, and I've learned oodles from you all. If we can't eat watermelon, are

there other fruits also that I should know about? Coconut won't bother me, cause

I NEVER put it past my lips. Never liked it, not even on the german chocolate

cake. I'd forgo the cake cause of the coconut, and I'm a 'chocoholic' big time.

Watermelon. LOTS of candies have less sugar than this. 2 C = 25g sugar, same as

a Milky Way

I'm with you. Coconut is not causing any trouble with this girl, cuz it can't

get in. Yuck.
