Guest guest
Dear Ianda, I know how frustrating it is to not have a definitive diagnosis of IC. I wish there was a way to test for it. Just like you, I have a history of loss that suggests a weak cervix, but there is no other indication of one. I did have a doctor tell me during a operation that my cervix took almost no effort to dilate. That was after I had lost a son. Do you know how your doctor determined that the dilation ocurred before the infection and ptl? My doctor had that theory, but he said there is no way to know for sure which came first: the effacement or the ptl. On a hopeful note, I did just deliver a healthy baby after having an abdominal cerclage. Don't know for sure that it is what made the difference, but I strongly suspect that it was. I didn't even have to be on bedrest. Good luck to you, Licia
Guest guest
Hi Licia, Thanks for your response. My doc thinks that I have IC because from manual examination my cervix appears to be too weak. When I did a histeroscopy the technician didn´t even had to dilate it to insert the camera into my uterus, cause it is really easy opening... I´m also not sure what happened first. But, my doc really believes that the dilatation is the cause for everything... and of course it helps a lot the fact that I seem to be more prone to inffection. Your story and your beautiful baby (I saw the photos) give me a lot of hope for the future. Were you in preventive antibiotics or something like that? I think I´ll be for my next pregnancy. I just hope to have a bundlle of joy at the end Love Ianda " laja14 " laja14@...> To: Abbyloopers cc: 07/11/2003 17:34 Subject: re: one question Please respond to Abbyloopers Dear Ianda, I know how frustrating it is to not have a definitive diagnosis of IC. Mostly i try to keep my mind numb but some times i just burst. I still have first uls picture of my 14 wk son in my purse and i hurts whenever i see it. This November/decemember is not a good time. it is near the anniversary of my first loss. We are TTC starting from this month. I am going through fertility treatment and i will be using vaginal for the first time. Wish you luck with your ab cerclage. I´m going to have my ab cerclage placed pre pregnancy at the end of November and the plans are to start ttc three months after that, at least. I´m recovering from my last loss (August, 6th), and I´m quite well most of the time, but I´m still too emotional. Me and dh decided to wait a little to start ttc, but to do the cerclage now, so we will fell that we are at least a step closer. What about you? How are you and what your plans?
