This taste great on the wacky cake!

Cocoa Frosting

1/2 cup allowed margarine, softened

1/2 cup hershey's unsweetened cocoa powder

2 2/3 cup unsifted confectioners' sugar

1/4 cup water

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. Beat margarine at medium speed in large mixer bowl until softened, about

1 minute.

2. Add remaining ingredients. Beat on low speed until ingredients are

moistened, then on medium speed until creamy.

I havent tried this one yet.

Creamy Vanilla Frosting

1 1/2 cups allowed margarine, softened

4 cups confectioners' sugar

2 tablespoons water

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. Beat margarine at medium speed with an electric mixer until soft and

creamy.

2. Gradually add sugar. Beat until light and fluffy.

3. Add water and vanilla extract. Beat until frosting reaches spreading

consistency.

I have others in 2 new cookbooks i got but havent tried them.

Hi, Christy, and everyone,

I am interested in frosting recipes that do NOT call for confectioners

sugar. The stuff I have to buy is *outrageously* expensive because it

is corn-free. I have an awesome granulated sugar recipe but it

requires beating over a stove for like 10 minutes - good God! I'd love

a " dump and do " recipe. Any suggestions?

Thanks so much for the frosting recipes! I am going to test out our cake this weekend to make sure it's edible for the party!

Will let you all know how they turn out!

Thanks!

hi

This is the only frosting i can find that doesnt have confectioners'

sugar hope it helps. I am going to copy the paragraph as it appears in the

book The Parent't Guide to Food Allergies pg 161.

" For an especially easy icing, all you need are whatever chocolate chips

your child is allowed. About 1 1/2 cups of chips, run through the microwave

on high power for a minute and then stirred until all the chips have melted,

should do it. Then simply spread the melted chocolate on the cooled cake.

If you like a thin crunchy chocolate crust, put the cake in the

refrigerator. If you prefer a soft icing, leave it out. Either way, it's

delicious. "

I hope this is quick and easy for you :0)

I had no idea that you could melt Chocolate Chips and put it on as frosting. That is very interesting! Thanks!

Hi Heidi,

I am read the end of your email where it says you live in Mass. Well, hello neighbor! I am in Connecticut! It was neat to see the Mass down at the end of your email lol!
