Guest guest
Hi Wendi, My son Jack (3)has also had an anaphylactic reaction to nuts..in his case tree nuts, but also has bad excema. In our case when we were referred to the Allergy Clinic they wanted me to start an elimination diet immediately to see what his food intolerances are. I live in Australia so our testing methods may be different. The elimination diet is pretty restrictive but after 2 weeks on it I feel sure we can endure it as long as it takes. Don't you sometimes feel as if every aspect of your life has changed?! I think it's as hard for siblings and parents as it is for the child! Jack is on a diet of rice, rice bubbles, homemade bread, pears and most baked items (home baked that it...I'm turning into Martha when I wanted to be Betty Crocker!) Being an 'allergic' child, I think he is really just as happy to be eating bland. We then have to wait til his excema goes and then reintroduce everything. This week I joined a support group in my area and I have to say I felt elated (if you can in these circumstances!) at meeting girls of my age who were experiencing the same things! I am still grieving after only having known about Jacks condition for about a month so I think it will help enormously. Does anyone have any great toddler recipes avoiding nuts? Would love to hear from you! love Libby _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com

Guest guest
Libby, I am curious as to how things are going in your neck of the woods. How is Jack? Are you starting to come back up after the let-down?
