Guest guest
OK, a little background first. I am a 57 yr old male, morbidly obese (I hate that term) and was diagnosed with diabetes in February while having a bout with a bad prostate infection. Since I was diagnosed, or actually since I was sick, I have lost over 50 pounds. I am on 850 mg of Metformin, twice a day. My morning fasting numbers have been from a high of 121, that was on my 4th day of testing to a low of 86, a few different times. Lately my morning numbers have been in the upper 90's to mid 100's (meaning 105 not 150) and my averages seem to be crawling up. This morning I was 103. I then had breakfast, on the way to work, which was a bagel with cream chese and coffee with Sweet & Low and a little milk. At noon I had a turkey sandwich with lettuce and tomato and a little sauce (don't know what was in that) on a low carb wrap. Two hours after lunch, and a few minutes after eating a pear, I checked my BG and it was down to 86. Does this sound strange having the BG lower after lunch then what it was in the morning? If I am being paranoid about this, please tell me so. Thanks.
