Guest guest
Well since you asked, and hopefully my answer won't get me tossed from the list (oh well if it does it won't be the first time I've been kicked off a list, or the last LOL) What I know about it is G.W. Bush & the other repugs out there will never go for this. Even after all the wonderful things Bush had to say about Reagan, he turned down flat when she asked for him to let things like this help the sick people of the United States. Two Americas? You bet, and Bush & his ilk doesn't care about you & me unless we are part of his great fundraising machine. JMHO DJ " It's amazing I won. I was running against peace, prosperity and incumbency. " W. Bush " If this was a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I am the dictator " W. Bush [alldiabeticinternational] Did anyone see Regan Jr. speak last night? > At the democratic convention Ron Regan spoke about stem cell research and the > possibility of having a CURE for diabetes among other diseases. He stressed > the fact that this type of research as nothing to do with abortion or aborted > fetuses. Cells are taken from you and the nucleus is implanted into an egg > whose genetic material has been eliminated. The cells that grow in a petri dish > will never be a fetus, never be implanted into a womb, never be a life. They > are simply cells that have the potential to become any type of tissue that > can then be implanted back into you to repair damaged organs and tissues. This > sounds a lot like science fiction, but the truth is desperate people have > travelled to places like China and Israel for treatment with this stem cell > replacement and they have gotten better! Of course we aren't at the point yet where > we can just cure everything, but with money and time to continue the research > we will conquer a lot of diseases that cause so much suffering. > I will go out on a limb here and say that I can't believe anyone would be > against this. We have to remember that all advances in science have always > come under the gun from portions of the population. Usually it is these same > people, when it is there turn to suffer are the first ones to yell, why can't > medicine do anything for me. > What do you all have to say about this, I am interested in your responses. > Gail > > >
