Second, yes I am aware that the ADA does ask diabetics for a higher carb level, and to use less fats, sweets, or processed foods. They are not recommending mac n cheese, or white bread or white rice, while at the same time everyone I have spoken to there says they do not recognize the glycemic index as part of our plan. This is just plain nuts. That is exactly what they preach without accepting the name. For myself I follow it and have enjoyed many conversations with Rick Mendosa. I respect authoritative figures, and do not wish to spar with any of them, or you. I read many pieces of e-mail a day, usually about 300. Upon deciding it has come from a legitimate source, I print and pass. I do not write these pieces, I am a Mom, wife and grandma. I have a disabled husband who requires care. When he has a good day, things are great. On days like yesterday (he fell UP the stairs from the family room into the kitchen) things just seem to compound on top of themselves. So, my time is valuable and this little keyboard becomes my outlet to the outside world. I love my groups, almost like children that are enjoyed, played with, and great friends. Duncan, I would really like to be friends, but will keep a safe distance because I am wary. Wishing you a sunny weekend (it is gray here) Hugs, Marilyn
