Guest guest
Hi Carmen--I just read this post. I too, am on Actos. It may be good---but it is known to put on lots of weight. I should know, I can't seem to lose any weight no matter how little I eat. I am 5 ft 0 " tall and weigh 220. We could be twin pumpkins this Halloween!!!! Snicker-- I'd like to know about the other group you are in. I love to get recipes and write about life. Some groups are very strict and do not allow any chit-chat. Hugs. Alice (Pudggiebunny) Subject: [alldiabeticinternational] Joyce Hi, Joyce, have you ever tried Acto's? I seem to be having pretty good luck with it and glucophage and the I keep glipazide as a back up, glipazide is generic for one of the drugs, I forget which one... are you keeping track of the number of carbs that you are eating at each meal? Guest guest
Hi, Alice...one thing to keep in mind in trying to take off some weight, when you don't eat like you should your body will kick in to famine mode and store every little bit that it does get... I am trying my version of the Atkins/South Beach/1,2,3. diet...lol, at Breakfast I will have like 2 boiled eggs, 2 hamburger patties and some veggies, for a total of about 7 carbs... the patties are cooked on my Foreman so they drain good...the veggies are broccoli and cauliflower, the frozen stuff.. lunch will generally be a salad and maybe a couple of patties... dinner will be a meat and some more veggies... I am shooting for 500 or less calories and 20 or less carbs per meal... I was told by my dietitian that to lose weight and get to the target goal, take your goal weight and multiply it by 11 for women and 12 for men and that will give you the total amount of calories that you can have in a day..you will lose and then when you hit that goal you will maintain by eating the same amounts.. for me to get to my goal I can have 1,595 calories per day, but I want to keep it under that amount till I get there...kinda speed things up.. As for being twin pumpkin's this Halloween, your on...lol, hubby calls me pumpkin cause when we met on the computer he asked what I looked like, I told him Short and round, hence pumpkin...
