Guest guest
Hello, Ok, all of what you have quoted/copied from the Joslin materials seems pretty accurate, EXCEPT for one very serious & significant thing. Any time that you use tighter control... every single time you attempt for this " normal " 90-120 range and attempt to KEEP in ONLY that tight... such that over the longer term you come back with 6.5 A1C's (or lower) readings.. every 3-4 months Because of that fact, there is a far greater chance of having lows that are serious problems! The DCCT was painfully clear on that point. The folks in the study who ~tightened down~ 30% of them had major problems, requiring outside assistance for their lows. It is the short term danger of being too zealous. One we need to be painfully aware of too... Jeff
