Guest guest
Hi, Tina, educate yourself...that is the best thing that anyone can do, there is so much information here at your fingertips that in just a matter of days, you will be better informed than most of the Doctors you will meet, and even some of the Diabetes Educators... I don't know if you have the Google search engine on your computer, but I do, and doing a search for diabetes will bring in over a million sites...lol, Diabetes is one of those darling diseases that there really isn't a specialist for it, like there is for hearts, kidneys, etc... your basic care provider like your GP is going to be the main one along with maybe a Endo and a diabetes educator. But each of them only have so much knowledge, it is up to you to be proactive in your health care, that means learning to eat right, learning to read food labels, count carbs, how your body reacts to different foods, keeping a close check on your blood sugars, and learning tricks to bringing them down if high and what works best to bring you back up if you are low... bringing the sugars down, you will find that exercise will help to do that, it can be walking, running, weight lifting, or just vacuuming the house.. for bringing them back up, there is glucose tablets, some folks carry the tube frosting like you would use for decorating cakes..orange juice, soda with sugar...plain table sugar..etc.. Read, Read and then read some more... that is the best thing to do.. Carmen
